Thanksgiving Menu?

That's a good deal, Bott. The grocery stores are just luring us in, aren't they?

For me, it varies.

Sometimes, I go out of town and have it with my relatives... or I'll stay in town with my family.

With my relatives, it's usually a HUGE dinner with a lot of variety... ham, gravy, turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, dinner rolls, jello, egg salad, potato salad, etc. :)

With my family, it's usually small and simple... a turkey, gravy, ham, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Go for the relatives!!!

Y'all are making me home-sick :( Since I have been up here for 8 years now, I have only been home to Texas ONCE for Thanksgiving. Of course I miss the good Southern food, but mostly I just miss my family. The women standing around in the kitchen cooking and talking while the men congregate in the living room around the tv watching football. *sighs*

My sister Lizzy and I have wrung chickens necks before.... and chopped them too... I am not above chopping turkeys... (psycho music here)

My mother did that growing up, chickens that is. Hold 'em by their feet until the body stops flopping around. Mustn't bruise the meat.

werent you getting enough attention in the political forums?

i have no idea why would a poster talk about some turkey butchering :dunno:

I believe these posts should be deleted including mine.

You are correct, Jiro, even when speaking euphemistically. I was joking. Mods may delete my post regarding dismembering the local turkey.

Sure, make a new THREAD, not here in Sallylou's thread. By the way, are you going to have a good thanksgiving this year with your adorable girls? ;)

you know - sounds like you're bothered by turkeys being butchered for thanksgiving. But you don't seem to have problem with Palin talking in front of camera while turkeys were being butchered behind her... :hmm:

*it's a pix of Palin talking to news, holding a cup of coffee. behind her was some turkey butchering going on. there's a butcher looking at camera with facial expression "uuhhh......"

let's not ruin the good thought of thanksgiving in this thread. MAKE ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT CHOPPING the head off. THanks KOKO.
