Texas Teen Wins Right to Give Birth Over Parents’ Objections

No, you missed my point.

That's common for states that ban on displace of child, especially renters, so when agreement with landlord fail so the court will be only option to resolve. The lengthly process is nature of court, depending on area.

again... you missed my point.

months? years? never heard of it.

it's pretty much common that it would take a landlord minimum one month to evict a non-paying renter. poor mothers would be given a priority for section 8 housing.

I seriously doubt it would take months or even years to resolve it. 2 months... 3 months top... that's believable and understandable but months to years? yea right.

how exactly can a renter afford such a lengthly legal battle? never never never never never heard of it.

The court in LA is horribly overwhelmed with really many cases, it will take really long, long time to hear and make a ruling.

The renters don't have to pay because landlord or eviction specialist have to ask the court to to evict - plaintiff and the renter is defendant.

really? a local municipal court?

and when a notice of eviction is served... a renter will have a choice to respond to it and doing so would require a lawyer.

it would work better for you if you're able to link me to an actual case rather than a............. tv show

Yes, that's typical in big cities with severe budget cut.

That's not true if state law ban on displace of child, that effectively block the eviction until the court say OK.

I don't think it is funny because of reenactment - based on true event and I don't have court case about dealing with between landlord and renter. The landlord and eviction specialist have to make deal with renter, such as extra help with moving and find a place to live whatever they could afford - that how to settle and allow renter to be evicted.

again... never heard of it. not even in NJ-NYC.

sorry to say but this is all hearsay...

NY and NJ don't have budget crisis, unlike CA did, so I'm saying about LA and the budget cut caused overwhelmed in the court - many cases and fewer judges - very long to have a final ruling.

I'm misunderstood about between renter and landlord. There is correction: the renter has to file the lawsuit to delay the eviction and they will become plaintiff, also landlord is defendant. That must be done within 1 month to filing.

There is link that I found to corrected my statement.
California Tenant Law - Free legal advice for California renters' rights

After all, there is link above for you to steering out all unnecessary argument.

then this pretty much nullified your argument about court being overwhelmed. there is no "unnecessary argument" on my side. it is you who are making a bunch of silly claims.

months to years to resolve it? never heard of it.

takes a really long time to hear a case and make a ruling? never heard of it especially in this local simple case. this is not some murder trial at a criminal court...

the fact that you misunderstood the law is the fact that you really have no idea in this matter and that's ok. so it would be in your best interest to not drag this on as you're getting this fuzzy info from Spike TV rather than facts facts facts........

No, I added a link about budget cut in LA that caused overwhelmed in the court.
Los Angeles Court Budget Cuts Will Shut Down Many Courts And Delay Services

From link.
`"We sincerely regret having to reduce our services to the public," said Edmon, who predicted longer delays in getting civil cases to trial and administrative problems for judges who must share courtrooms and staff.

Fewer judges and many cases - make very long time for renters to be evicted.

That doesn't nullified my argument about court issue.

I found your post is very rude (made fun of me) and I already admitted that I misunderstood about between renter and landlord. You will not see any discussion in respectable way from me due to rude comment, also I'm not competitive person and not looking for winnable. :(

Why am I seeing so many posts that present the choice as abortion or keep the baby? What happened to adoption?

Yep...that's the idea...more and more grandparents' are having to raise their grandchildren, draining their retirement funds....and I just don't feel a 16 yr. old is mature or even ready to be a parent, these teens have no idea of the responsibility it entails.....

sooooooooo true rr...for some grandparents there no end to it no life no rest...i made sure my son understood what condom was for and control his urges until over 18 then get to know girl for at least 3/4 months...maybe parents at fault here if knew she sexually active then march her to dr and contraception..
if i been in position i understand why parents did this but i would be bitterly disappointed and sad..

yes it does. you do not know for sure.

competitive? win? what????

do not confuse my tough approach with rudeness. if there's one thing I detest very much... it's fuzzy facts.

yes it does. you do not know for sure.

I do know about situation with court - similar situation with my state in bankrupting county and county made huge cut - very long time for civil case goes to trail and my situation with uninsured driver will take 6+ months.

Most of debate, you pulled me to compete and I think you should know about my background - I'm not looking for win the debate, or lose from debate.

What's tough approach? I made honest to admit that I was misunderstood due to misconception that I applied from TV shows. There are not many members will admit about misunderstood or mistake, but with rudeness, or tough approach, it will be unlikely for me to admit those. I found your post hurt my feeling and lost the respect, so I have no idea about what you want from anything.

Toughen up, Foxrac...most times you don't like to be called out when you're wrong and have a hard time accepting it....

6+ months? that's normal for any automobile accident case. same thing for my mom and my friend. it's not mainly because of budget issue.

Most of debate, you pulled me to compete and I think you should know about my background - I'm not looking for win the debate, or lose from debate.
huh? then leave. don't be a baby. you're an adult enough to make a responsible decision.

I have no idea what you want from me. I treat you the same as everybody else and there's a reason why I'm being tough (but not rude) like this. it's to ensure the validity of their argument and many times - their argument fails to pass the validity test. that's why my tactic works pretty good.

my advice for you? if kitchen is too hot, then get out.

Not really, in many cases, when I found mistake so I had to admit and correct the mistake, that's my personality.

Show me any posts that I don't admit the mistake. The disagreement with anyone's opinion isn't mistake. That's not my preference to toughen up, no thanks.

a very commendable one. a humble one that is. lot of people don't admit their mistakes and continue to quibble around, wasting my time and everybody else's. shameless.

That's not normal in here, it supposed to be less than 3 months for resolve with uninsured driver, but the county is bankrupting and they made much cut - so pushed many cases goes longer now. There are few of my relatives had went through the court - took in 3 month but for me, it will be more than 6 months now.

It is not easy for my obsessive to get out of ugly debate, especially in here. I don't know that you applied tough approach to all members, but I think it was only for selected members that where got your interest.

the only "selected members" are the one who are stubborn enough to stay on long will get my heightened interest to cease the farce.

this has gone far off the tangent. now back to topic...

It's brings up a lot of interesting scenarios. Imagine this were applied to CIs. Could a teen sue to avoid being implanted? At what age can they sue?

I imagine a judge would have to decide on a case by case basis if the youth was mature enough to make the decision. I don't know that there is a set age for something like this.

it has happened
