Swine Flu Outbreak

If they are so concerned about the Swine Flu, why haven't they closed the border to the illegals? Illrgals with swine flu could infect hundreds if not even thousands. All over the United States. Anyone have a answer for not closing the borders with armed National Guard?

The federal government has stockpiled enough of the drugs to treat 50 million people, and many states have additional stocks. As a precaution, the CDC has shipped a quarter of that supply to the states to keep on hand just in case the virus starts spreading more than it has so far.

Swine Flu Video - Closed Captioned

There's a very good video about swine flu which has closed captions. It features Joseph Bresee, M.D., Chief of the Epidemiology & Prevention Branch in the Center for Disease Control's Influenza Division. The video runs approximately 5 ½ minutes. To start the captions, find the box at the far right on the bottom of the screen which has an arrow icon. It will give you a "CC" symbol to click on.

The video tells you what swine flu is, where it comes from, what the symptoms and treatments are and how long people with swine flu can be contagious. Dr. Breese gives information on what steps to take to avoid catching the virus, what to do if you think you have become infected, and warning signs that should lead you to seek emergency medical care.

Yea, I had told my boys about this virus and had brought them both hand sanitizers and placed it in their book bags, so that they can use it while on the bus, or at school because some parents don't seem to leave their sick kids at home, and let them go to school, that's where they're putting other kids at risk.

Thank you for sharing this. I went to bed early last night cuz I wasnt feeling good and now I have a migraine headache with a sore throat so I am watching my symptoms and was worried about the swine flu as one case in my county was reported yesterday. Because of this video, I now know what to watch for. So far, I just have a migraine and sore throat so I just hope it is allergies. I am not going to work so I wont infect others if I do have the flu.

Amen... Little bit boring....( too slow show) Speed up!

in 1918-1919 40 million died from spanish flu, might be wierd to say, even trippy but i kinda hope the swine flu would kill off 1/2 a billion or even 1 billion, then the world is better of for another 50 years before the population swells up again, Earth and economy needs a break !, and its probably nothing anyone can do, its likely nature saying back off on the breeding and exploiting the natural resources.....who knows.... remember the film "the happening"
having said that i hope swine would kill off people, its better than 'war' because war basically brings out changes in politics and the fate of our freedoms, where as pandemic would too, however the tendency of those in power to corrupt their wish to monopolise power is not likely as it is might be the case with a war

Been there and survived. It is NO fun! This virus is serious one.

As far as I remember, the last time we had this swine flu was sometimes 32 years ago.

Yep. It was in the 1970's that we had an outbreak.

The CDC is also recommending if you think you have the flu, call your doctor or the ER first and ask them how they want to arrange your visit to the doctor or ER. If you just walk into the ER or the doctor's office, and are actually contagious, you expose everyone in the waiting rooms.
