apparently, back in the 1970s (1974 i think?) Bill Gates was developing DOS, Disk Operating System in a darkend room with windows blocked for secrecy. and It's kind of no wonder why he called the newer version of MS-DOS (DOS but newer with the MS name tag when it got bigger) then he called the mouse-environment DOS "Windows"...weird but true story - thought i should tell as your quote just reminded me of it lol
 
Interesting story Grummer. Bill Gates, even to this day, is pretty secretive. He only allows his very closest friends and family into his house. However, he does give generously to underprivileged students through his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Being addicted to learning is not a bad thing!:wave: But Bott has a good point about "dedicated". That way no one can make a mistake about what you mean.

You are correct, Bott. That would be the better word choice so there is no mistake made in what Travis was saying.
 
it would be like everyone has their own favourite word(s) for certain meanings...be it grammarical styles , or personlising of styles, or personality thing(!), or some like flowery words others just consider simple words as suffice. Suffice is like 'enough' but has different uses, like you will get boring or show limited vocab (hearies only) when repeat same words in letters or essays, which is why i use thesuraus ALOT....and even at that i still had to be careful to know what words are used for tricky tricky descriptions of thoughts or ideas
Travis addicted is fine, is used for 'fun side' but serious addiction some might use obsession then again, obsession can be used in a fun way too, really up to you. Sorry I got 'teacher-like' just helping but then I have to respect your way too. OK cheers
