State of Union Address

Less Talk, More Action

I really liked this part:
But what frustrates the American people is a Washington where every day is Election Day. We can't wage a perpetual campaign where the only goal is to see who can get the most embarrassing headlines about the other side -– a belief that if you lose, I win. Neither party should delay or obstruct every single bill just because they can. The confirmation of -- (applause) -- I'm speaking to both parties now. The confirmation of well-qualified public servants shouldn't be held hostage to the pet projects or grudges of a few individual senators. (Applause.)

Personally I do not see why there is so much entrenchment between the parties. It's just absurd.

**glares at a few board members**

Well, if you're glaring at me, it doesn't bode well for our continued discussion which hasn't even warmed up yet.

Delay or obstruct?

This is a guy who approvingly gave the nod for Democrats to block out Republican senators from attending any negotiations or meetings for both the stimulus package and the health care bill when they were being drafted up.

Or that it was Obama who promised several times for full transparency of his health care bill on C-SPAN. Of which we know by now a big lie.

Man, you just cannot trust the guy.

The problem is that Repubs ARE obstructing and delaying everything. Like Obama said, it's like election day EVERYDAY.

Not once have you said to us, "We should do whatever our ELECTED leader says." You just ATTACK him constantly. Thanks bud!

;)

It's just that I am smack dab in the middle. My views on certain issues will go either way.

I think people need to open up a little.

Ie: A democratic way of giving the disabled people employment by creating a "Government" position (something we will probably never see here in the USA) in whatever the person is capable of and want could be seen as a republican way of shrinking bureaucracy by cutting down on the people who do all the paperwork/processing on SS, Medicare, Medicaid, Section 8, and more claims.

I love how Obama poked fun at Republicans after he announced tax cuts for small businesses and the Republicans didn't clap... if it was bush saying that, they'd clap thunderously! :)

Because our congressmen are making more than $250,000 a year.

-Oh and Obama is a democrat.
