Sorenson ignore FCC regulations?

According to Public Comments on FCC's website, most of them are asking for interoperability. Honestly, I think SorensonVRS should get some money, maybe increased $ per min for reimburse on their research time.

However, thats not the point, what I want to see is some unity in reaching an typcial agreement that deaf community OVERALL feel safistied with. According to FCC's public comments, it seems that the overall of the community felt unjusified. I think it would be reasonable to "disable" the blockage for a short time if SorensonVRS do not answer within 5 minute, so in other word, Sorenson will still get those calls if they answer within 5 minute, and if not, it will help Sorenson wait list being shorten when other use different VRS. I think its a win-win situtation. IMO of course.

NW

This chapter will go down in deaf history as 'The VRS Wars' as this issue has pitted deaf people against deaf people. And this issue is bloody divisive with Sorenson failing miserably in the game of unity.

And Sorenson has been a total disservice to the deaf communities by taking interpreters away from and restricting the choices of community members.

You already post often in other thread about the lawsuit. You need not to mention over and over. Also, your remark about how Sorenson take interpreter away, what about other VRS business? they use the community interpreter as well.

I have to admit, we (the deaf community) need to give Sorenson some kind of credits, because after all, they helped evolve the video conferencing which really actually benefit us. Think, without Sorenson, there ll be no D-Link i2eye. Of course, you may go like "Well, there ll be different codec" but think for a moment, will D-Link i2eye exist if not for Sorenson? Many deaf users do not know how to do end to end video call with webcam as most VRS with webcam is from web interface. Sorenson helped create a cheap (comparing to Polyview) stand-alone videophone which help deaf use it to the max. Because of that, many deaf users were be able to use their primary language over the line now, instead of TTY.

In other word, we all should be grateful for their innovation on technology breakthrough in video conferencing area.

True, We might dislike Sorenson for their business practice, but we need to be fair with them, they did help deaf community by creating a better technology that we now use everyday. So we should give them a break right now. Let the FCC decide because I am sure FCC will be fair with us all after reading lots of comments.

Fucking beautiful and fucking downright to the fucking point. So I give Nightwarrior 10 star score!! :gpost:

Im tired to see how much Richard Roehm keep glorifying the lawsuit and the terminolgy he used like Goliath, etc. Have to be a win-win situation than taking down the entire VRS provider. We need every available resources and these providers need to come up better features to stay competitve.

Roehm was, is and always will be in a position to "tear down" anything that he dislike. I find a fucking joke that he was against the Coalition (CCASDHH) when it comes to state funds to run the deaf agencies, since he claimed that he did submit a proposal to the state via fax, but the state have no records of such submittal. Now, he is siding with the Coalition on the FCC petition on interoperability videophones.

I understand the issue on interoperablity videophones, no need to have two videophones or two IP addresses. Sorenson needs to come up a simple solution just like Nightwarrior suggested in his two recent postings.

Did you know that the lawsuit is still churning? Did you know that Scott Johnson of www.scottwireless.com is a party to the HOVRS/Sorenson lawsuit?

my bottom line is : fuck and fuck Roehm. go take a bottle of viagra and valium. :madfawk: :madfawk:

EXACTLY!!!!! I love the way you outline your point!!! I just learn that Sorenson is the one who initate the development of DVC-1000 and VP-1000. Image if Sorenson had been so greedy, I am sure that Sorenson might not have let Dlink sell off on their name, thus would have been only VRS provider! All inventors deserved the credit!

Now because of Sorenson, the demand of VRS is now insanely skyrocketed! We ended up have at LEAST 9 available VRS agencies across the nation! You should have been grateful that this had happened! So, leave Sorenson ALONE!

LAME EXCUSES!!!! If HOVRS failed to get patent, then it is totally HOVRS fault, not sorenson. NDA is just a joke! I don't give damn about your baloney make up lawsuits. I just hope that you get sued for frivilous posting leading damages to Sorenson and pay for the damages so we all can laugh at you!

If compliance with patent laws the issue, then Sorenson is failing at it when there's another company suing them for $10 million for theft of business plan.

Sorenson was developing the video conferencing equipment (S-Vision, Envison and Envision-SL) LLOONNGG before HOVRS.

All of you were just kids back then. So, Sorenson knew how to do the patent. Ron ObRay was a newbie to video conferencing and has NOTHING to start with. He hired lots of programmers to work on the web pages using off-the-shelf web cameras while Sorenson developed the hardware aka the videophone.

Therefore, Sorenson have earned a big foot in Deaf history and will go down in history.

Well, I dont know how you just learned that Dlink was the manufacturer for Sorenson. That knowledge was out for more than a year and half ago. You can see the similarities between the two videophones, Sorenson VP 100 and Dlink DVC1000. Open up both videophones and you ll see the same printed circuit board design,

Since Sorenson is not a OEM manufacturer, Dlink produced (not developed) the videophones for themselves and Sorenson based on Sorenson's engineering specs and own patented video codec. Sorenson inserted their own firmware, thus making distinct difference. Always a step or two better.

Of course, it is still skyrocketing. Oh boy, there is more information, I need to run to take a shit.

Gee!

From what I understand, Sorenson provided Financial support for Dlink on patented vp. It has to do with alot of agreement between Dlink and Sorenson. Dlink isn't really the inventor, just manufactures the devices. Hoever Dlink has about 8 patents on DVC-1000 while Sorenson has 2 patents on VP-100

Tty

Hey, don't you all noticed that after the birth of VRS and VP, TTY has been killed practically overnight! I think combination of communication super evolution has killed TTY machine BIG time! Im glad I don't have to continue using TTY and wait for new technology that we are now using!

Disservice? youre going down the wrong road. Sorenson REVOLUNTIZED the videophone and VRS technology. That is what I called service.

Of course, the supply and demand for VRS terps will not balance out for many more months since the technology isnt mature yet.

Now, it is time for you to bend over on your OCDAC CEO desk, drop your pants and undies, spread open your unsoaped buttocks, then get your gay friends give you the rear attack.

I second that!!!!

I wanted to take you down to history road.... Back in 1980, the beginning of Relay service, it was so spotty, it was not even 24 hours service, some agency charges you for the calls placed. It was so bad, even worse your limited to 10 minutes or 15 minutes. So, over time, now we have 24 hours 7 days, even on christmas to have unlimited use of Relay service. I am sure it goes same thing with VRS. Right now, VRS system is so spotty, 10 years later, we will forgot all about this shitty service. So, don't expect something new to become perfect just outright overnite!

The fame from being innovators is quickly drowned out when the innovators decides to use their innovations to monopolize their services.

The face of CCASDHH has changed greatly since my criticisms of the group. Some of their newer members have sided with my views of deaf society. The smoke and mirrors will not be there the next time I submit the RFP's.

And when the wind blows, the money goes in their direction and thats where Ill be going too.

Whatever you say. There is only one new member, Richard Trybus of San Diego and there isnt any significant face changes.

And the next RFP is several years away.

Yea, plus 17 million ghosts a month! Far more than what AD had been hit in just a month!

Do you have these patent numbers? Sorenson is the inventor and Dlink is the manufacturer. That is why many people assumed that Sorenson "copied" the design, etc, but it was the other way around.

Financial support, make sense, but why Dlink need the money when it is already big and selling many other products.
