Do you know James Garner from the TV show called Rockford File ? Well he got a very bad heart attack from eating red meats and now I now found out that I might have a blocked ateries in my heart due to red meats and fats in foods....The doctor told me to avoid red meats including any pork, hotdogs, bacon and sausages & fried foods, I'm finished with the fats.....Doesn't matter red meats is high in fats....So I'm going on a vegetables, salads and continues to eat Morning Stars and Boca not real meats and low fats products periodly.

Plus too many people have heart attack, heart problems and more caused by too much fats and red meats, real meats are high in fats.

Do you know James Garner from the TV show called Rockford File ?

No, I didn't know him. I don't live in America.

Well he got a very bad heart attack from eating red meats

I guess that it could be that he eat wrong meats like burgers, fatty meats, organ meats, processed meats (hot dogs, bacon, sausages, etc), any meat with skin (roast, chicken) or smoked meats or eat meats everyday.

and now I now found out that I might have a blocked ateries in my heart due to red meats and fats in foods....

Lean red meat (beef, pork fillet) or white skinless meat have low fat.

The doctor told me to avoid red meats including any pork, hotdogs, bacon and sausages & fried foods, I'm finished with the fats.....Doesn't matter red meats is high in fats....

Did you ask your doctor about Lean red meat and skinless white meat? I bet your doctor will say the same what I said here. Yes, your doctor is correct that fatty meats like hotdogs, sausage, salmai, bacon, etc affect your heart. I don't eat fatty or smoked meats.

So I'm going on a vegetables, salads and continues to eat Morning Stars and Boca not real meats and low fats products periodly.

I do eat vegetables and salad real alot and prefer to eat real low fat meat (Lean meat or skinless meat). Lean red meat is very rich in iron and have proteins, minerals, zinc, phosphorus, vitamins as niacin, B12, thiamin & riboflavin. I eat red lean meat twice or three time a month, white skinless meat twice or three time a week and plenty of seafoods....

Plus too many people have heart attack, heart problems and more caused by too much fats and red meats, real meats are high in fats.

Fatty meats yes, Lean red meat, no.

Well, did you know that some of list you post have high fats & sugar?

Yes I aware that they are good & protein but don't forget that dried fruits have high in sugar & nuts have high in fat. Eat them moderately is no problem.

Make sure there're no high soduim in those list.... and make sure there're no hide chemistery, flavor, sugar etc...

Peanut butter? It's high and bad fat.... :eek3:

Lean meat and skinless white or red meat have no sugar and no high fat but low low with plenty of vitamins and irons.

Hey there, people get heart attack for DIFFERENT reasons, not only high fat or RED MEAT! Im eating red meat, did I get heart attack yet? No, and my father eat ALOT of red meat since he was young which he used to be farmer with his family, he did get heart attack yet? No, he will be 50 years old this April, he still eat red meat no matter what, even his doctor told him to eat red meat STILL and have to eat white meat plus fish, why? Because he have heart diease for many years since he was young which it's generation in his side family, so now his kids include I have a chance to get it. So red meat, white meat, fish, garlic, onion and etc some of food that help heart diease healthy up VERY slowly but it's perament(sp) and have to take the medicine everyday for it, if ONE DAY without medicine, then next day he could be die and it's very dangerous... So, I disagree about people getting heart attack because of red meat and high fat, I know there is different reasosn and could be generation or whatever like that... Honestly, I hate people to decide everything because of ONE REASON, not different reasons. Example; People decide that people get cancer in their lungs because of smoking which it's not even true, people get cancer int heir lungs for different reason, not only smoking... :roll eye: Just think twice and know that there's different reasons for that....

What kind of things did the nutritionist do for you?? smile it's not easy...They say if you are really happy with yourself it comes off nicely... just eat small portions lots of veggies and fruit as well excersing.. lol I don't even have that motivation unless someone kicks my butt to move it lmao..

THAT IS RIGHT!!! :thumb: that is how i did it! ate every 2-3 hours... meals in between with snacks like fruits, veggies, small nuts, yogurt, etc... and LOTS OF WATER WITH EXCERCISE AS WELL! :thumb:- still try to do it! :giggle: (i have to find a new nutritionist here since i relocated to help me KEEP GOING!!!)

my mom was my BIGGEST MOTIVATOR... i gotta tell you! she wouldn't let me give up! :squint: sheesh... now i look back... i thank god for her... even though sometimes she can be a major nag! :ugh: but look at me, i am a lot happier but i still have a long way to go... now that i am living my bf, he is my NEXT BIGGEST MOTIVATOR! :thumb:

so i know how you feel... feeling not motivated... do you have a significant other, close friend, close family member who can motivate you??? :hmm:

My boyfriend didn't want me to have one either. He said there were other options which he was right. I guess I got so sick of not being motivated enough to go to the gym. I work all the time so I just want to go home and rest. But I'm glad I didn't do the Gastro bypass. That is a big relief. How do I find a nutritionist? where do I look up in the phone book? What are the coverages and is it costly?

thank god your bf had his senses and knew it was a risky/deadly thing to do!!! --- and supported you through the hard decision!!!

i know the feeling of not being motivated
:( (please read what i posted in canuckian's box before posting this :) )

*** but i notice after i excercise JUST FOR A LITTLE BIT, I FEEL SO MUCH AND LESS GUILTY.. and always look forward to excercising again!!! i just bought a ABS LOUNGER ULTRA chair and i LOVE IT!!! i just do it a few times a day for a few minutes... (we have a very tiny place so it is in the way, but we don't care cuz we are moving out soon anyway!) ---
so, why not get one??? and just do it for a few minutes (when you get up in the am before you shower, after dinner?) :hmm:

speaking of finding a nutritionist... i don't know as my uncle found him for me... ( in CT) and i absolutely have NO IDEA about the coverages, etc (my mom said it is a fortune-- and if i gain all of my weight back, my uncle will be disappointed in me as this was his BIG GIFT to me) ... as my uncle covered the expenses for me as his gift to me!!! cuz he didn't want me to get the gastric bypass... so this was his way of helping me out :aw:

Yes I second that.

If anyone who want to lose their weight then change their eating habits into healthy and more execrise....

I'm not for surgery who want to be diet...

I know from reading the magazine, the doctor recommend a fat lady to change her eating habits and more execrise first. It took her a year to lose her weight in her strong willing. She did it successful but the problem is her skin.... It look horrible to show her skin flabby due lose weight... (she was heavy weight). The pubic Health Insurance praise her for lose weight and agrees to cover the cost to remove her fat skin. She is happy... This is okay what she did, but surgery for losing weight? No![/QUOTE]

i agree with you 100% here!
EVERYTHING is WORK!!! (little work, easy or hard work!) and unfortunately many people (not everyone, mind you guys! :D) are just TOO LAZY TO MAKE IT WORK... i still see overweight people "pigging out" which REALLY DISGUSTS ME!!! and then when they have problems, such as bad knees, etc... they whine, (drive in electric motor wheelchairs cuz they can't walk!!! which really annoys the hell out of me!!!) :thumbd: and won't admit that it is THEIR WEIGHT that it contributing to their MAJOR HEALTH PROBLEMS!!! SHEESH!!! :squint:

but for those who just eat the wrong food like i did (i am not a BIG EATER or eat junk food,... it was just the carbs and stuff like that.. and NOT EXCERCISING!!!) i changed all of that... and IT MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE!!! :thumb:

Looks for The Hidden Epidemic on Heart Disease

LARRY KING: I know we all-- I changed my eating habits after heart attack, especially after the heart surgery. I cut out meat most of the time. I'll eat steak once a month. I went to fish and vegetables and steamed foods and the like. Are we what we eat?
DR. STEVEN NISSEN: You bet. You know, diet is very, very important. And it won't lower cholesterol levels in everybody, but it will lower them some for almost everyone.
LARRY KING:What steps can we take?
DR. STEVEN NISSEN: Well, I think clearly eating less saturated fat. That's meat fat, butter, milk fat, those sorts of products. And more poly- and mono-unsaturated fats. Vegetable oils. Nuts are very healthy. So this is called a Mediterranean diet. It's a diet high in healthy fats. And most experts believe the Mediterranean diet is the important diet.
LARRY KING: So nuts, which can be fatty, are also good?
DR. STEVE NISSEN: They are very good.
LARRY KING: Olive oil, which is fatty, is good?
DR. STEVEN NISSEN: Those are good fats. And it's important for people to understand the distinction between good fats and bad fats.

Less is more. Researchers found that people tend to eat everything on their plate.
Since maintaining a healthy weight is important for heart health, watch those calories!
Measure out your servings and use smaller plates for automatic portion control.

Eat Smart
Eating foods that are high in salt, sugar, and fat can contribute to high cholesterol,
high blood pressure, and obesity.
Take one step to eat smart: Foods that are high in fiber, like whole grains and
fresh fruits and vegetables, have been proven to help lower the amount of LDL
(bad) cholesterol in the blood.

I am truly sorry to hear about your cousin's loss...I undy how he feels

you know the old saying...

"love never dies."

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you will be all right, find a peace
with your families/friends. :(

Sorry to hear that Sweetheart

Things will get better and we all went thru the same things when our love one die and yes it's very very difficult to let someone go and jeeze I'm so tired from my illness and anyway let you know Julie is in our heart and thought forever & prayer too...Hugs!

My mom was telling me about the sad news, I felt so sad for my cousin Mike that he lose his wife last night. His wife, Julie died last night and we don't know how caused but we suspect that it could be from her surgery for Gastric Bypass. And, she did get that surgery in around one year ago. She is only in late 30's or early 40's years old. Too young, even she have three kids on her own(two kids with Mike), two of them are old enough to understand but they have a son who is only 6 years old and don't even understand, that's so sad! And, honestly Julie is Mike's first woman as a girlfriend, a true love, his love of the life, a wife, etc like that. He never have a woman in his life for whole of his life, he is maybe 45 years old? Not sure, I felt bad for him to lose her like that way. :(

Rest In Peace, Julie. You will be missed from me and our family a ton.

Oh Sorry about that! Hope He can pulling his life up!
