That is what I'm using now which my audie configured to sound like an analog. It's sound very good and strong. It is suitable for severe & profound hearing loss. Yes it is pricey but it's well worth it.
 
I ve digital h.a. I have no plm with it, and, it very soundful than old h.a. But my best friend has same thing, and not work for her. So, i recommended you to ask them for 30 days or trial til u full decide that agree for ur hearing. It better than being sorry.

I know what you are going through. My hearing aids are being repaired. They both need new ear hooks and the program button on one is not working. The loaner are terrible. Everything sound terrible. My right hearing aid makes people sound like they are underawater.

Now for the confessions. The last time one of my hearing aids had to be repaired. It was because I thought I could remove the earhook and cleam under it. WRONG! when I loosened the screws the entire $3000 hearing aid fell apart. Does anyone realize how cheap the inner workings of a hearing aid look? It looks like something from Radio Shack.

The first time one of hearing aids broke it was because I was on a cruise and went swimming in the salt water pool with one of them in. Do you know how quickly the battery corrodes? It took less than a minute and lots of q-tips to clean it up. For the record it was not a CARNIVAL cruise and the tropical drinks came much later,LOL

yep i know how quickly the battery corrodes.. not good! :( ouch.. sorry to hear about that but hope you had fun? heh!
 
I'm still gonna stick with analog hearing aids for a while, if you're rich you should go with digital hearing aids, I'd guess. My hearing aids are broken and it's making static sounds so I'm going to audiologist for a hearing test that I haven't been there since 2002 and get the hearing aids repaired, also. Medicare sucks ass because they do not cover hearing aids so my parents are going to pay for it.
 
I agree with some members that need try to get digital HA (BTE).

If not enough to get sounds then get trial for Oticon SUMO is final option.

I'm confused, I thought u are a CI user and why do you need a digital hearing aid? *puzzled* Please explain.
 
It would be REALLY awesome if CI processors came in clear colors like the HAs that Pacman posted the pic of....

I don't wear CI anymore for personal reason, and I need get new digital HA because my old HA isn't work anymore and never got new one since 1992, and I need HA for college and job to get some sounds from them.

First, you said your CI got damaged in MRI. Now you say you don't wear CI due to personal reason.
 
I thought if you get ci.. u cant wear ha .. u will never be able to use it.. unless you use it for other ear without ci.. hmm..

Well, that depends on people that losing their residual hearing then HA wouldn't work for them after got CI and some people are still got residual hearing after CI, that make HA to still work.

I also have Oticon HA, and love them.....yeah go for the clear BTE's, thats what I have and I like it.

Is yours Sumo DM ,Sumo E or Sumo XP ? There are three different models,I suppose .
 
A friend hooked me up with her brand new Oticon hearing aid. I don't know if it's analog or digital, or what model it is. If I take a picture and post it here, think one of you can tell me what it is? lol

The people who had Ci by AB. usually most of the residual hearing is gone due to the fact that they cut thru the nerves so will never restore the residual hearing ever again. That what the audiologist told me. I dont know about freedom and others. so not sure.

Good question as i am curious about Freedom n others. i guess i will create the thread about this.
