Snow in October???

my bf's parents just got back from florida (west palm) and they said it was beautiful weather! I want to go backkkk....but i can't until february..it's awesome they bought a place there :)

 That's relative, Alicia. For most of the country and for those that live in Canada, it would be. But, for those of us who live in 80 degree weather year around, 60 degrees is COLD! :giggle:

Okay, we're spoiled. I admit it! :laugh2:

Also putting plastic bags over them?
(only on those brief cold temps overnite)

Huh?

Try putting plastic bags over several acres of orange trees you talking hundreds of trees.

Anyways it is still colder than heck here not as bad but in the low 40s

Thank you. I think I was mostly correct, but I was going by what I heard on the news. But, what you just said sounds like a better explanation then what I gave. :)

You had the right idea. Just takes hours not days.
It has to be a hard freeze for several hours in order for the oranges to freeze.

But the concept of the crop damages are the same. :).

You must be from the Keys. Beautiful place!

Yeah, too much!

But that's what I learned few years ago... maybe the ones with smaller acres or fewer trees? I know they do with some plants, however.

Yep, not bad now (52 degrees now) but rather unusual at this time of the year.

Recalled seeing several thick plants killed by 2003 cold blow (just two days below 32). Once maybe two yrs ago it did get so close to it.

I'm actually from Maryland! But, I've lived here for 10 yrs. I've "forgotten" what seasons are like. I forgot what the TRUE definition of COLD is, ect. :laugh2:

But, yes, it's a geogeous place. However, hurricane season can make one re-think living here.

I can imagine, since you have one way out. One road to take you to the mainland.

It is 39 F this am. Heck of a cold snap. Should be warming up today.

No snow here yet lol But sure enough, it's so unusual cold overnight here! (low 38)

Unreal, huh? Would have never expected that in Florida! I lived in MD/DC and even Norway.. and I still think it's pretty cold here!

Last January, We had white snow here but it already melt away so fast. We haven't had snow for 8 years. It's cold in early morning then later it is cool and little warm today.
