Shooting in area of Empire State Building, with casualties

yep. that's why they look startled.
They are lucky to be alive. How many times did the shooter fire his gun at them? Maybe they wore bulletproof vests.

"Johnson did not have a concealed-carry or residential permit in New York, so his possession of the weapon was illegal in New York City, according to city officials."

Exactly my point.

Banning guns won't stop the bad guys from using them.

But banning certain guns would stop people from committing a mass murder so easy.

Not really.

None of the recent attacks were with banned automatic, high capacity "assault" rifles.

Attacks in movie theaters, temples, auditoriums, business offices, school buildings, etc., can rack up large casualties numbers because they happen in confined spaces where the victims are cornered and can't easily escape. It doesn't matter what kind of guns are used in those circumstances.

none. all of the victims were shot by police. 3 directly and 6 indirectly.

what for? why bother in a city with gun ban law?

What hell is wrong with NYC?

I love to see Michael Bloomberg to get hell out of office and he expanded the term limit, that's not cool. Congratulation to NYC to having a worst police department ever.

I'm much more worried about regular street police officers with bare minimum training carrying 9mm gun that holds 16+ bullets than law-abiding citizen with .45 gun that holds 8 bullets.

I bet Bloomberg is going to order Ray Kelly to have new-and-improved firearm training for the police.
