Shooting at LAX; casualties

I want to know how the shooter was able to take a gun in there so damn easy. Isn't there any metal detectors at all airports entrances after
9 11 ???

But it does show that "gun-free zone" gives people a false sense of security if they think that means no guns will be brought into the area.

I also heard interviews with people at the airport who were shocked when they saw the TSA workers running away with them instead of helping the passengers escape. They stated that they thought the TSA employes were armed, and were surprised to find out that they are not. They thought the TSA was there to protect them, and were shocked to find out otherwise.

The TSA are wearing no guns when you see them on TV patting people down so I do not know why people would think the TSA had guns. People needs to be more informed when they're traveling today , it's not the same anymore and the rules and laws keeping changing. You really needs to know where some exits are encase you do need to escape a mass shooter or if there is a fire.

Whenever I'm in a public building I take note of where are the exits.

One group didn't make Deaf Expo in Palatine, IL today because they missed the plane. It had to do with LAD shooting, but they are all safe. Thank God!!!

LAX is a third busiest airport in the nation... I can imagine a very frustrated passengers who could not leave or go to LAX. They're experiencing more delays this weekend because of the crime scene yesterday.

The shooter did disrupt the airport operations big time!

Yes, it is very, very BIG TIME.

If it does happen at Atlanta airport (first busiest in the nation) so it will be much worse.

The LAX is the busiest place for international planes flying over Pacific Ocean, I suppose they are diverting to SFO or other airports on the west coast. It's bad enough especially for international routes.

I don't like idea about allow armed citizens to carry guns in the airport because of terrorist concern and the airport is more prone to terrorist attack than in school, so there are many terrorist plots as well.

That's not true, they're very concerned with hospitals and schools, and as far as Homeland Security is concerned, we're always watching for possible attacks in those areas. A terror cell that can hack into a hospital's computer systems can literally kill thousands in short order. Two other major points of interest for them is poisoning our water supply and setting off a bomb on a train during the peak of travel. It will happen...it's just a matter of when.

How did everyone miss the Chinese guy that hacked his cousin's wife and children to death with a meat cleaver? No screaming to ban knives? They didn't need guns on 9/11, just box cutters....

The security at Boston Logan airport was beefed up right after the shooting at LAX.

I'm sure the security is beefed up in those airports after yesterdays' incident. More headaches for travelers but they keep us safe in the sky.

You did not read my comment right! I SAID TSA NOT WEAR GUNS!

An unarmed person should not be called security. So, instead of them being called "TSA", they should be called "TRAWTCSSUA"
