Second Ebola victim diagnoed in USA

I knew you were gonna bring that up. I waited to see if you were gonna fall for that trap because it's an indication of how informed are you in this subject.

seriously dude.... 1918? 8 studies? medical science wasn't exactly reliable back then. the medical community and government were largely clueless about this subject back then. and plus - nobody was able to explain why the Spanish Influenza pandemic declined. Are you saying convalescent serum was the reason why the pandemic had finally came to end?

the post result of this pandemic was the beginning of understanding how it works, medical theories on viruses/germs, and better antiseptic practice.... and the worst part... the advancement of biological warfare development.

that's it? why so few....

there you go. I'm sorry but this convalescent serum for Ebola is unproven, unreliable, and dangerous. only 3 people? not exactly quite proven.

and why no convalescent serum "cure" for HIV/AIDS? or Bird Flu? SARS? Congo Fever?

As I said, there are others but I didn't want to bore you with them, I'm sure you are capable of looking them up. The Argentine study should be enough to show even to you that it works; when a death rate goes from basically 50% down to 4% after the convalescent serum was used is pretty overwhelming. As for HIV and AIDS no one has been cured of it as of yet, so where exactly are they to get the serum?

LOL, in case you haven't watch Kid Cannabis yet.

These border patrol won't admit that they can NOT watch every foot of borders. Not many realize that, only few does.

no dude.... that's just a normal everyday job.

if it's a dire emergency situation like Ebola outbreak.... the federal government will send in everybody... everything to shut down the border

again... experimental. unproven.

this Argentina study you speak of... how many were tested on live subjects?

Dude they have been using convalescent serum therapy for almost 100 years, so if you think that means it's experimental, so be it. I guess you think they should just stand by and let everyone who comes down with Ebola either die or fight it off on their own and have about a 50% or more death rate.

The Argentine study involved 4,433 LIVE people and using the serum the death percentage dropped to less than 3.5% when without using it the death toll was about 43%, but hey, it's experimental so it must have been something else that allowed these people to get better.

and yet.. it is still experimental with no reliable result... which is why it's not a cure and not widely used... even CDC and FDA are very wary of it.

we have been doing cloning, raising the dead, cryogenic, etc for almost 100+ years too. convalescent serum is not the only viable solution out there. there are plenty of other studies that you never knew about because it's classified. If I were the wealthiest man in the world willing to donate an extremely large amount of money on any medical R&D... I guarantee you that this convalescent serum thingamajiggie won't be getting any single dime from me. it's a false hope. a lost cause.

you should know that at scientific standard... that result is extremely minuscule and would not pass any medical scrutiny... hence - unapproved... unproven.... unreliable....

what do you think why it's not approved by FDA? what do you think why it's done in Argentina? because of lax laws! in order to get approved by FDA, do you know what pharmaceutical companies do? they perform studies on live subjects in poor countries like Africa, India, South America, etc.

I see that you keep hollering around about 50% and 4%. got a source link?

they say she good but give no more, asked if she skyping and txing said she was but bit vague about it

Guy I know posted on FB earlier that he seen 4 CDC trucks set up near here even with hardwired power and phone lines to them but didn't know what for of course its thought to be associated with something on the ebola thing.

There was also a scare in Boone, NC a woman who traveled out of the country was admitted and ebola protocol was used but now they they said no evidence of ebola was found and they transferred her to a major hopital in Winston Salem, NC.

The location of those trucks is about 45 minutes away from that hospital in Boone. Coincidence? :hmm:

WOW~! ALOT of fear here.. I am not worried at the moment.

Just dont have sex with your newly formed relationship for 2 months. why? ebola lives in the semen for 7 weeks even after cured. ebola is a STD. If you dont work with blood, or dont have sex ever - you most likely won't get ebola. If you already have a relationship with someone, doesnt matter straight, gay etc, and you know you have a faithful lover, you are fine. If they recently went on a trip - its easier to abstain and wait it out for 2 months.

I am more worried about fushima radioactive crap on the west coast and our eating, drinking supplies affecting us very, very soon on the east coast.

Who knows, with the birth defects going down will surge again.

Dallas... and now a possible case at Bellevue hospital in NYC.... :Ohno:

They're now saying a 2nd health care worker has tested positive in Texas.

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/health...-positive-ebola-authorities/story?id=26206090

I can't believe CDC did not have all the health care workers that cared for the patient that dies in isolation precaution . If one person got Ebola after taking all the precautions you would think CDC would had realize people were going something wrong and there was a very good chance that more people did not know what they were doing .

I read you can get Ebola from a person sweat , so if this latest person been sweating a lot and going out in public touching door handles , ATM etc other people could be expose to the Ebola.

Is there any sound in the utube with the map , I am not hearing anything

"At approximately 1:00 a.m. MT on October 15, Frontier was notified by the CDC that a customer traveling on Frontier Airlines flight 1143 Cleveland to Dallas/Fort Worth on Oct. 13 has since tested positive for the Ebola virus. The flight landed in Dallas/Fort Worth at 8:16 p.m. local and remained overnight at the airport having completed its flying for the day at which point the aircraft received a thorough cleaning per our normal procedures which is consistent with CDC guidelines prior to returning to service the next day. It was also cleaned again in Cleveland last night. Previously the customer had traveled from Dallas Fort Worth to Cleveland on Frontier flight 1142 on October 10."

are you saying it's a cure?

[NO, all I've said is that in some cases survival rates went WAY UP when the serum was used.]

and yet.. it is still experimental with no reliable result... which is why it's not a cure and not widely used... even CDC and FDA are very wary of it.

[Never said it was a cure, just that in certain cases survival rates have increased dramatically with the serum.]

[Can you show or sight me sources for the above statement?]

you should know that at scientific standard... that result is extremely minuscule and would not pass any medical scrutiny... hence - unapproved... unproven.... unreliable....

[If it wasn't proven the medical community would not use it and it's obviously gotten FDA approval because they would not use it without it because of legal issues.]

what do you think why it's not approved by FDA? what do you think why it's done in Argentina? because of lax laws! in order to get approved by FDA, do you know what pharmaceutical companies do? they perform studies on live subjects in poor countries like Africa, India, South America, etc.

Just google it and you will have a lot of reading material.

I can see how you want to handle the situation, just go in and tell the patient, "well we don't have anything that is a complete cure, so your on your own, oh yeh, you have a 50/50 chance of making it, if your lucky, I'll come back and see you in a couple weeks, you may or may not be here. Good luck!"
