No comparison here between ASL and ISL other than the prevalence (or lack of) use of it.

It's not just only English but the acceptance/adoption of another culture over their own and even the insistance on the use of ASL which has shown to be detrimental among deaf ISL users.

This happens in a very small minority. Why does anyone even talk to this man at all. :crazy: He just hates you with a crazy passion because he was not the most popular at Gallaudet, in my opinion.

amazing that you're now shifting everything to blaming ASL for killing off Native American culture..... nice spinning there but it's a rather poor effort at it. Let's get to topic, shall we? We're talking about scientists trying to end deafness, yes?

No. Rather that ASL has impacted ISL users among deaf Native American Indians. Where did I say that ASL is killing off Native American culture?? The topic covered was on ISL and ASL, not to mention the English language and culture as well in my blog.

Europeans, Americans, French, Spaniards brought diseases to Indians who weren't immune to them which caused a depopulation of Native American Indians. Native American Indian culture from various tribes is still around and certainly not completely eradicated though some tribes went extincts since then. Others went extinct on their own.

When you say "indians" it covers alot of tribes all across North, Central and South America. I'm assuming you're talking about Native American Indians in the U.S.

Yes.... the unintentional event is inevitable however.... giving blankets tainted with smallpox isn't exactly unintentional...... So are you denying the fact that foreigners tried to INTENTIONALLY kill (drive) them off?

Where did I say that I denied the fact of history that Europeans, Spaniards, U.S., and such didn't try and purposely kill off the Indians? The Spaniards did a pretty good job at wiping out the Aztecs civilization. It's a common theme in history on how Indians were purposely targeted for their removal or elimination.

BTW,

Native Americans = Indians in North, Central and South America or Indians of the Americas.

No...that was never the case here to claim that ASL is killing of Native American culture. It's clearly on sign language...not about Native American culture per se.
