Rude Awakening today...

My car accident was over a year ago, in July. Today, I received a registered letter from my medical insurance stating that the insurance of the lady who rear ended me, still has not paid my medical bills. It is in the police report that she was totally at fault. Both our vehicles were totaled. If I ever get hit again, I will definitely hire a lawyer. My neck is so messed up and her insurance company refused any liability. Told us we would have to sue them and if we lose, would have to pay all legal fees. Happens to be the company my husband works for. SIGH!!!!

Yep, and if you have a good enough lawyer you can now go deeper for pain and suffering, just add to it and rake em over the coals.

I was hit by a car walking when I was 21, took 4 years, settled out of court for $12,000... later found out if I would have went to court I would have gotten $75,000 +.... well, young and dumb, jumped at the first offer ( and they knew it and hoped that I would otherwise they were on the losing end of the stick ) insurance companies are about making money today, they will weasle out of anything they can... they want to make it not pay it.
even with my homeowners, they got the bids for my damaged roof (6000 low and 8000 highest ) guess what I got to work with...yep, $2000 and the rest was on me, and what was I paying them for? they used every loophole they had to weasle out of paying for it minus my deductable... and they will some more too.

Nope, and here in Missouri they will Rape you for every penny they can. The only great insurance here ( auto, home, life ) is AAA and they are so high its almost impossible to keep them. They say you are saving more than any other company...how? the premiums keep going up $100+ every time you renew, when the statement says you save $XXX for safe driving, claims free...ect....
and yet your renewal is more than the last? its Bogus, they all are. But I have to say, with AAA, American Family, Shelter and Farmers Insurance companies here, they are the only ones worth having as they do pay, no questions asked. I have Farm burue becuase I was in the country and it was cheaper, but found out they dont pay squat, when i renew on the Jeep, it will be with AAA or another, wherever I get the better rate. I know it will be more than what I pay now, but at least Ill know, whatever is due me will come.
 
She over the worst now hope she not got whip lash.Good get her working best cure.

Yes, sadly some cant be with their families this year.
A friend of mine called and said his Niece was killed in a hit and run, another friend informed me that another has passed away... its sad when so close to the Holidays and for all the ones who lost their lives in Paris, It has to be extremely hard on the families when mourning and the holidays upon them.
Prayers for everyone out there, including all those here on AD, to have a wonderful holiday(s) and many years to come.

My daughter did go get her belongings from her car, took a few more pictures, she doesnt remember anything as it is ( first time she seen the car since accident ) and it happened so fast it was all a blur to her, but here is the inside and she was upside down at the time...

That's an awful picture. She is very lucky to be alive. My dad died in a car crash shortly before my birthday, so I remember that each year.
 
Don't be surprised if your daughter get cited for following too closely or something along those lines. More following distance she would see the disabled truck that the other truck was obstructing her view.

Not where she was, her road turns sharply directly into a merge lane and its not very long. unless she was the only vehicle on the road that day its impossible to see anything ahead of you there with trees overhanging the road/shoulder.... I even hate the area and Im an experienced driver, its a hairpin turn, if going too fast there you will just end up right into the lanes of traffic and miss the merge lane altogether, its a really F'd up area to drive right there.
