I was woke this morning that my daughter was in an automobile accident, rolled her car 5 times. Been at the hospital all day, luckily she is just walking away with aches and pains, nothing serious.... car is totaled.

Hit her head on the roof a few times, landed upside down, so a little struggle getting out.

Holy smokes......
With luck like this...she should be playing the ponies......
Phew

Wow! You're daughter is so lucky!

I'm glad she wasn't badly hurt.

Yes it was quite a scare for her. Im glad she walked away. One witness seen it all and was surprised she was alive. She said she was hanging upside down in the ditch and fluids started running out of the dash, so she unbuckled her seatbelt and fell hitting her head again, then started kicking her door to get it opened, crawled out and the lady was freaking out that seen the accident. They had the accident cleared before I got there and then got a call from her that they were taking her to the hospital, the paramedic told me where to go and I got there shortly after her arrival.. She was pretty shook up... but as time went she started hurting more here and there, and I told her she is really going to feel it tomorrow what shes not feeling yet today.
Im just glad she is ok in general and able to walk away from it.

Glad she is okay... Hope the aches are not too bad for her tomorrow

OMG ! I am so happy she was wearing her seat belt , that was a horrible accident and thank goodness she is OK . I know she will be hurting but to be able walk away is a miracle she has no broken bones .

Holy sheeet :eek3: She's lucky to get out of that with not much injuries. So I wonder what happened?

Cars are replaceable, life is not, hope your daughter have a speedy recovery..

So scary!!! Thank the lucky stars that she will be ok. Wishing her a speedy recovery!

Those dreaded phone calls. Sorry this happened but so happy to hear she will be OK.

Update. What happened was this. She lives on a backroad, where it comes out into a 4 lane divided highway ( 2 lanes each way separated by a wide grass median ) they have a short acceleration lane that merges into the first lane. She has a low profile car 2004 Dodge stratus SXT, and had 2 big trucks in front of her ( this highway is very busy ) so they are all getting up to speed to merge which she cant see ahead of her but the rear of the truck, and everyone puts their blinkers on, since she is last she was looking back to see if clear to start getting over unknown to her their was a broke down construction truck in the acceleration lane, the truck in front of her all the sudden swerved and by time she turned and seen what was going on she got startled by the stopped truck and over corrected, her car fishtailed with her rear tire dropping off the pavement ( the median is very steep drop off from pavement and dished ) so basically it grabbed her tire ( pulled it off the rim ) dug in and flipped the car, at the angle it had the momentum to really put a spin on it as it when downhill.
She is very lucky, as there are a lot of accidents in that very spot, now we know why. I dont know if the downed truck is getting cited, but we will talk to the officer and all as well soon because I know they are supposed to set out cones per MODoT and highway patrol standards.... if I believe correctly its 50', 75', 100' and 150' from any CDL vehicles???? correct me if wrong, its been a long while since having a CDL but I do know they have to set out reflectors, cones or flares and their were non anywhere, so their was no warning whatsoever.

I'm very glad that she wasn't seriously injured.

As a parent, I know how dreaded those phone calls can be.

I hope tomorrow is better for both of you.

I hope so as well, she is supposed to have a job interview, but may be post poning it? Depending how she feels, but also without a vehicle, its going to be a LONG ways to walk.... so now she is trying to sell some things to hopefully buy or even trade for a car.....

Oh so that's why they set up those cones. I always wondered about that. I have to wonder though even if they set up those cones would she still see them with the trucks ahead blocking her vision?

It sucks but oh well, indeed you can see why accidents are frequent in that area. There's an intersection close to my house that has sharp curves and you can only see about 500 feet and the problem is sometimes you gotta floor it just to get on the lane safely.

Yes, due to the truck being in the road and not on the shoulder, they really wouldnt have had much of an entrance because the cones are supposed to taper to the broke down vehicle which werent in place. basically the truck in front of her didnt see it either due to the other big truck in front of hi, reason he swerved at the last momment... at least she has one witness who seen it all, because none of the ass-hats driving the big trucks stopped to help her, just the old lady who seen it.

and if it would have been raining, that median may have had a different outcome with water in it... Im a bit furious about the truckers.

Oh wow, what's terrible accident - my sister had rollover into forest in 2007 and was in hospital. She got discharged without serious injury but she still has issue with neck and spine due to accident.

I had worst front accident in 2005 and it supposed to be fatal but boss at body shop shocked that I'm alive and no broken in my body, beside bruises. He was very unbelieve that Saturn did well in accident but he said other drivers died from same type of accident. My tummy was hurt as hell when seat belt pulled very hard and I still have skin scratched due to seat belt.

I'm glad that your daughter is okay without serious injuries and it sounds like miracle.
