That must be a record for the fastest AD switch on! Just two weeks!

lol R2D2 all I know is that they had me call them today for surgery time and then had to call again at another number and they gave me three appointments this month. One is on the 17th that is for a follow up and then the 21st for activation then on the 27th for a mapping lol. It is gonna be the longest two weeks of my life though!

Oh my goodness I wish you all the best sweetie, please do keep us update

ok will do Angel. I am gonna be in HillCrest Hospital tomorrow which is actually in Mayfield. But it is still a part of Cleveland Clinic. If you and Cheri decide to get a CI never know we may run into each other someday. My surgeon is Dr. Weber and my Audiologist is Mike Scott.

Ah Bear, It's great that things are going in the process for you to get a CI. I wish you the best and do take it easy in the meantime ;) I am sure it will be exciting for you as well.

Not really, i was implanted on May 3 and turned on May 10th. On May 11th I was given 3 maps to try out 3 different processing speeds and had those for 2 or 3 weeks, I almost went bonkers with them, I actually prefer the slower speed. Sounds much more normal to me. I was told they will switch you on the day after surgery if that's what you want. OUCH. :)

Good luck Bear. Hope you heal quickly.

Yes same here - I prefer the slower speed too but no way could I have been switched on the day after surgery! I was glad I had the recovery time and probably wasn't ready to be switched on mentally until 2 weeks after surgery (actual switch on was 3 weeks post and I went crazy waiting in the last week).

Bear is probably recovering in hospital as we speak!

Bear's Update

Bear has called me on the VP recently (about an half hour ago) and she has requested me to inform everyone that she is doing ok and recovering from the C.I. Surgery. She says she is still somewhat a little sore on the area where they did the surgery on but however, she's feeling a little bit groggy due to the pain medicines. That would be understandable.

She also mentioned that she had the surgery at 10:30 AM and got out of the surgery at 1:30 PM, spent some time in the recovery room and was discharged from the hospital at around 3:30 PM (I think, She can clarify that).

So far, She looks good for a person who just had came out of the surgery.

Thanks for letting us know about how it goes with Bear. Glad she is doing ok and now recovering from the surgery! :)

Thanks for letting us know Jolie 77. I can't believe how fast it has all been for her and I hope she is taking the time to rest out and put her feet up.

Thanks for letting us know Jolie... It's great sis bear is doing ok, hope she will have a speedy recovery.
