Koko suggested to create a new thread. So I did.

I understand both parties don't always agree in some degrees. Sorry, but I can't help myself. I see so many threads that are pretty uglier than I thought. It's not matter whichever you are on. So, clearly, this thread is about positive/good news on one side for our president. :) I thought it would be nice to say something positive about Obama in a while since January 2009.

I'll go first.

I'm so happy that he did try his best job for what he can do. I love the part is Obama took the girl for the visit on her last day of school. I thought it was cool and sweet. :D Do you remember, right?

a good news about him? uumm........ *thinking.... thinking.....*

I failed.

*it's a pix of sea lion with caption on top "I try to put on happy face". He made an attempt to smile but it's a very ugly smile. a caption says "i fail"

Or you can say something about him, Jiro, if you can't remember something about that. :)

Same thing as Jiro... except:

I do like how happy Americans were when the election results were in. Not very often you see a lot of cheers like that in America.

I like Obama in some way, such as he is one of good supporter on GLBT, our economy is in sight of recovery, improve the relation with world leaders like Russia is one of good example and he isn't worse as Bush does.

ah yes! we had the biggest voter turnout in the history. That is good. but regarding his Presidency..... can't think of any.....

obviously it's because it's way too early to tell since he's been Prez for only 9 months.

Thanks for comments! Interesting posts.

Souggy, ah yes. I remember how so many people were happy when Obama had won the election on November 2008. I like his awesome speech! Do anybody remember his speech when he won? :D

It's okay. You can come back here when four years (or less) later, and tell us what you do think. :)

I hope there are some positive news in future. Wait see.

it was good speech but.... that's before the Presidency. Now he's the President of the United States with all the power he can get. Problem is - he's not using it to get the result that he promised us. He's busy talking and dancing around to keep everybody happy. He needs to come forward and take charge... not afraid of stepping on some people's toes.

He called Kanye West a jackass.

I understand that what he did not always keep his words as a promise. At the least, he did try his best. Oh well. :)

Given the fact that he hasn't even been in office for a year yet, institution of his proposed policies have not had sufficient time to determine if he is "fulfilling his campaign promises" or not. However, he manages to maintain grace and dignity despite some of the disrespectful, bigoted, and hateful behavior he has been subjected to via the fringe minority. He is obviously grounded and clear headed. He is capable of seeing the bigger picture, and has shown he has a grasp of interconnectedness of action and consequence beyond the obvious. He is not afraid to appear human. He is well spoken, which is a wonderful change of pace after seeing Bush murder the English language for 8 years. He is openly devoted and affectionate toward his family.

Are you trying to start a fight with his dissenters? This is supposed to be a positive thread.

Loved the "jackass" comment. That's something we can all agree to.

I agree, he acted stupidly.

if you're referring to Obama, not at all. None of us (except you) are chastising him for making such comment because pretty much majority of Americans said the same thing (along with not-so-colorful names)

Umm, glad we have African-American president?
