Neiman-Marcus cookies

Hi everyone
I don´t know either you heard about this or not. I got it through email chain at few years ago. It´s true story about the poor lady that was ripped off!!!

THIS IS TERRIFIC - IT CAME FROM A FRIEND OF A FRIEND

My daughter & I had just finished a salat at Neiman-Marcus Cafe in dallas & decided to have a small dessert. Because both of us are such cookie Lovers, we decided to try the "Neiman-Marcus cookie". It was so excellent that I asked if they would give me the recipe & the waitress said with a small frown, "I´m afraid not but, you can buy the recipe." Well, I asked how much, & she responded, "Only two fifty, it´s a great deal!" I agreed with approval, just add it to my tab I told her. 30 days later, I received my VISA statement from Neiman-Marcus & it was $250.--. I looked again & I remembered I had only spent $9.95 for 2 salads & about $20.-- for a scarf. As I glanced at the bottom of the statement, it said, "Cookie Recipe - $250.--". That´s outrageous! I called Neiman´s Accounting Dept. & told them the waitress said it was "two-fifty", which clearly does not mean "two hundred & fifty dollars" by any *POSSIBLE* interpretation of the phrase. Neiman-Marcus refused to budge. They would not refund my money, because according to them, "What the waitress told you is not our problem. You have already seen the recipe. We absolutely will not refund your money at the point."
I explained to her the criminal statues which govern fraud in Texas. I threatened to refer them to the Better Business bureau & the State`s Attorney General for engaging ni fraud. I was basically told, "Do what you want, it doesn´t matter, & we´re not refunding your money." I waited, thinking of how I could get even, or even try & get any of my money back, I just said, "Okay, you folks got my $250, & now I´m going to have $250 worth of fun." I told her that I was going to see to it that every Cookie lover in the United States with an email account has a $250 cookie recipe from Neiman-Marcus...free. She replied, "I wish you wouldn´t do this." I said, "Well, you should have thought of that before you ripped me off & slammed down the phone on her. So here it is! Please, please, please pass it on to everyone you canpossilbe think of. I paid $250 for this... I don´t want Neiman-Marcus to *ever* get another penny off of this recipe...

Buffalo Wings

These are the BOMB. I developed this recipe myself from several recipes that I took off the Internet, and I’ve been refining it for years.

Take 30 meaty chicken wings with the tips cut off, lay them out in a flat pan, and sprinkle them with salt and coarse ground black pepper.

In an electric deep fryer, fry 10 wings at a time in lard (not vegetable oil) for ten minutes at 375°. After each batch comes out of the fryer, keep them warm in a 200° oven in a pan lined with paper towels.

While the last batch of wings is frying, mix the following ingredients together in a small saucepan and stir over a very low flame: half a stick of butter (not margarine), 2 tablespoons of Tabasco, two tablespoons of vinegar, and a quarter teaspoon of each of the following: garlic powder, Accent, cayenne pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir continuously just until the butter is completely melted, and remove immediately from the flame (this is very important to keep the vinegar from flashing off).

Put the fried wings in a large plastic bowl that has a sealed lid, pour the sauce over the wings, cover the bowl, and toss thoroughly.

Serve with celery sticks and Ranch dressing, and get ready to pig out—these are sooo good.

Supposedly this recipe is very similar to the original recipe. I got most of this recipe off the web page of a guy who claims that he worked at the bar where they were invented. I’ll see if I can find the page again. I made a few minor modifications to his recipe, and mine are even better than his. Even if the guy is bullshitting and he never worked there, they are damn good—give them a try if you have a home deep fryer.
