Hey, 2 caucuses going on at the same time; one in Ohio and the other in California.....not a bad idea. I think there's enough members from each part of the country to do this.

And how can moderators show up at both of them at the same time? Is it fair to throw DreamDeaf a pile of work to do?

I bet, Is that related another forum.. er um... DF ? If yes..

then too bad.. AD caucus already planned ahead of time than other forum cuz 2008.. somehow posting here.. then spread it out rumor mills all over and wanted copy alike AD does!

Well, Cheri, since this is sort of a new idea I threw out there, I would logically assume that for the West Coast AD Caucus, there would be an organizer on the West Coast who would communicate with DD, etc, for example.

No, GA, I was talking about AD. I would not do what you are suggesting because it would not be appropriate.

Also, this wouldn't be appropriate either, can you imagine the site's owner trying to 'pay' for both events? No, I didn't think so. So the idea of having two AD events in 2008...won't work. End of discussion.

RR, I didn't know Alex paid for anything for the recent caucus. And why do you say "end of discussion" with such finality?

I understand, but from my understanding, DreamDeaf stated before we even started voting for St. Louis, that we will have the next one on the east coast, and then the next one after that would be on the west coast, then the south coast, so everyone could get a chance to attend. There are going to be as many AD Caucus from now to years ahead. I believe that everyone would get a chance to attended to one or two or all so on. If we have two the same time, How can all the moderators and Alex can be at two places at one time? Let's not forget DreamDeaf, since it was her idea from the begin to have an AD Caucus, she cannot be at two places at the same time either.
 
Because this sort of discussion doesn't need to be dragged on, simply because it's not what's planned. And yes, Alex himself will handle most of the financial aspects of the next caucus. Hopefully you and any other members can realize that...of course, it's not being done so out of ignorance to either those who resides out in the West Coast or East Coast. The following caucus after the one in 2008 will be discussed later at to what locations can be considered. For now, let's concentrate on the one in Ohio, this poll. In doing so, it would be very appreciative if members would discuss the locations considered for 2008...is it in Center Point, in between Center Point and Cleveland, or in Cleveland. That's what this thread is concerned with. Let's stick to that for the time being. Eventually, other threads will be created--as we continue to set up Alldeaf '2008' Caucus.

My, my such resistance. Ok, just forget it, then; however, I'd like to hear what DD and Alex think about something that is doable if people are creative enough. I can just imagine the possibilities......but since I've faced such an immediate wall of resistence with no positive discussion, etc, I'm just going to forget it. Thanks, anyway.

If you think the next caucus is so far away from you, spare a thought for the overseas members such as me from Australia and Leibling from Germany. Now thats what I call so far away.
As the caucus will in 2 years time (2008), surely we all can start saving. Do the guess work and work out the likely it will cost. Then put some money away each week. Is that hard to do?

Some of them cannot afford to travel to the midwest. The last AD gathering was in the midwest too so try a different place out of the midwest area for a change. :)

This is DreamDeaf using MizzDeaf's AD ~ I'm in Fulton, MO for the MoSD HC ~ now at Killabrew's Pub socializing with my friends ~ I was told by several AD members what was going on with my poll thread ~ while I agree that it would be nice to alternate regions, I'm rather disappointed to see my thread become one big mess. I had already talked and made an agreement with Alex, the Admin AND owner of the AllDeaf Forum ~ the AllDeaf Caucus is under the AllDeaf Forum, and by that, property of Alex.

I had hoped that some Westerners would come to the StL Caucus, but it was mostly Midwesterners and some Easterners that did come.

Those who came, did agree to work on the 2008 Caucus, and in doing so, I hoped to be able to work out some guidelines for future Caususes. It would be nice to see one in the West region in 2010 ~ if we can find someone who can do the job.

This is why I planned on having the Caucus in 2008, so we could save money, write out some guidelines, figure out how run a Caucus, and in general, get the whole AD community working together.

It just doesn't seem doable to do two at the same time, while this is still going thru the early stages of growth, development and planning of the AD Caucus.

I beseech you all, to please drop this for the time being, and start helping me by getting the 2008 Caucus off the ground in Sandusky, OH and developing guidelines for future Caususes.

Wow, I sure was not expecting so much pettiness. It was just an idea; no one is being forced to do anything.

DD is right, let's get back to the topic and help in whatever way you can because time flies and 2008 will be here before you know it!

Hey DD I offered you assistance. Being as I live in Sandusky area and know this area like I would the back on my hand. I could give you lots of info about the area and hotels and group discounts for this and that.
