If we were to stand in front of an alien it is quite possible we would not recognize it as either a life form or as intelligent.
wouldn't be surprised if we've slaughtered them to their extinction in our history

it's funny that you believe Ouija Board is real but not aliens
Two different realms. One spiritual, one physical. The Bible does mention the existence of evil spirits but it doesn't mention alien beings on other planets.

what about aliens in this planet?

The Bible doesn't mention A LOT of things, Reba, things which have been proven by science beyond a reasonable doubt. Stop using it (the Bible) as the basis for answers to otherwise secular and purely speculative questions.

As for me, I believe 100% there are alien beings out there. In the vastness of the cosmos, we are surely not alone, but the space time continuum and our current understanding of it makes it impossible for us to ever reach life beyond our own solar system

Watch Carl Sagan's Cosmos.

I am confused on which not make sure question I misunderstand I vote wrong no way I assurance honest I am very aware it deep not enough understand! I mistake on I think so guess yes I do believe it!

I was talking about Alien, not virus,.

"Alien" means life from outer space.

It doesn't have to be intelligent life.

If *any* kind of life is found out there... it is really HUGE news.

It would mean that Earth is not the only place life arose.

It would mean that our creation myths, including that of the Bible, are just that...myths. And not literally true.

A question was asked, and I answered it.

Biblical Creation makes no mention of God creating any other physical living beings on any other planets.

Science has not "proven . . . beyond a reasonable doubt" that there are aliens living on other planets.

If there was proof that there is simple life on other planets, would that change anything in your religious views?

How about if it's intelligent life?

The question was not an invitation to make a dogmatic statement by citing one of the many, many holy books created by the human species in an attempt to explain certain physical and philosophical quandaries (the creation of the universe/earth/life, the problem of evil, etc. etc). Some of these things have already been explained by science; some of them haven't but eventually will, and perhaps some never will. But do not issue or imply dogmatic statements like, "aliens are not in the Bible, therefore they cannot exist." It is this kind of ridiculous, fallacious thinking that has resulted in all the problems the human species faced and continues to face.

Science has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the conditions for life can occur all over the universe and that the universe is made up of similar elements that can be found all across it. It is not a stretch to postulate that other highly intelligent lifeforms do indeed exist elsewhere in this universe. Thinking that they will ever visit us, or trying to determine their thought processes, intentions, or even their experience of reality, is where science (nor the Bible) cannot help . . . at the moment.

I agree you faith I do keep faithful

Her question was would it change anything in your religious views, not would it destroy your faith.

It does not have to be either/or.

There are plenty of people who trust in science and still believe in a god or religion.

Would your view of what god is, or what the divine is, or what the Bible means, or anything else about religion and belief, change if you heard that life was discovered somewhere other than Earth?

How do you know there is only one God ? I can't believe that earth is the only planet that has live on it. There could had been live on other planets long before we got here.

I often thought about this entire thing called ''life," and thought what if this earth, humans, the different animals, everything was created by aliens, put on earth as some type of experiment? What if we are of their creations put on this planet to see what the turn out would be.. Maybe they wanted to see how we resolved our problems, the way they'd expect. Now that's freaking interesting! You just never know. I'd have to be insane with all that is outside of this planet to not have a complete open mind. That's why I don't read, or listen to anything that "book" says. It tends to stunt ones ability to think outside of the box.
