I haven't eaten it in years but sometimes we used it for home made corn chowder..it's a good substitute for the Hormel ham.. we ended up using it more since Hormel stopped making the particular size can used. So don't often eat it anymore but it still isn't that bad :P

You weren't made to sit at the table til every last bit was eaten. I just have nightmares of the stuff. We had it fixed so many different ways, just can't disguise that awful taste. :P Yup, this was during and just after those awful WW2 years, when you made no fuss what you were served. I can fuss about it now! :giggle:

Ohhh yes we were made to sit there until we finished what we ate.

It's why I hate S*** on a shingle now lol. My mother grew up on that during the WW2 years- that was pretty much a staple in their house. It's also why I hate peas... never liked 'em then having to eat ALL of it... well.

Annie, it is the spam that the dog don't like.

It was a cheaper brand of dog food that the dog didn't like, so eventually after her dog tore up newspaper and put it in the food to show its dislike WDYS had to go back to the more expensive brand.

Yes, she indicated in another thread that the dog doesn't like spam.
