Polio threatens US

I knew a woman that got invited to swim in some friends pool and a few days later the woman legs where hurting her. She asked her friends where they go the water from to fill their pool. The people got it from tank that deliver recycled water . The water was not clean water. The woman was lucky and got better . I had a cousin that had polio as a child.

The woman was really upset that her friends did not tell her the water was recycled water which was a cheaper way to fill the pool.
 
Pretty sure most of us ARE vaccinated against polio (I am). It's the anti-vax crowd you have to worry about...

Relatives of mine knew a child who died of polio...they don't talk about it much...

Wiki says that there was the start of an outbreak in Syria in November 2013- sounds like it's moving from there.

The thing with articles like these- they're scare-mongering. Most Americans should already be vaccinated since infancy as it is part of entering school. More recently though more and more parents are refusing vaccines for whatever reasons-- thus why there was a spike in measles not long ago.

yeah... even though that has been disproven, they still hang on to it.
 
One of my aunts had polio but survived. And idk about vaccines causing autism. It seems more of a lie that everyone belives but I coudl be wrong.
 
I cant get vaccinated, might get AIDS from those dirty needles ( wondered why they kept used needles in the red boxes on the walls... they rinse em off and reuse them...lol
 
Considering the polio vaccine was introduced in 1955... Most have been vaccinated for polio... It is also a shot that is REQUIRED for children to have before they can start school... I'm pretty sure most people have already been vaccinated for it...

It's a nasty modern trend, and really pretty well publicized , and not only among medical professionals.+

There is religious exemption that where parents can claim and they can send unvaccinated children to school.
 
Yes, there's a religious exemption of course... there is for any vaccine... but it's not as common as you'd think... At least, not that I personally have come across.
 
I was in kindergarten when I got vaccinated for polio. All us little kiddies lined up in the school auditorium and went thru like an assembly line. Hundreds of us.

When I was little, they gave all students sugar cubes with a pink liquid on it.

I don't think you were allowed to refuse.

Our group got the shots. My younger brother and TCS got the cubes.

Because of the polio scare, I don't think any parents wanted to refuse.

I got the all my shots on my leg , my mom was given a shot in her arm when she a younger and it left a scar on her arm and she did not want that happen to her daughters. I had a cousin that had polio so mom wanted her kids to have the shot . I can't understand how any parents would want to risk their kids health for any reasons.
 
Stupidity is more of a threat to the US than polio.
