*sigh* going to go tell my fiance he was wrong for taking me to Disneyland last year in valentines.

WHY????? Sounds fun.

I just wish Valentine's Day was on a different day ;) don't care which one, any of them lol just not Feb 14th

Ambrosia, it is not nice to call people names. I understood that reference very well. However, you have to understand that it can be difficult to detect if one is being sarcastic or not online since facial expressions are not included. You didn't even include smiley faces in that post. Haha.
I got her sarcasm easily without attendant smilies.

I'm sure it's a bummer to have to share your birthday with a holiday, especially one that doesn't even get you a day off from work that you could use for birthday celebrating.

I'm sure you were a special Valentine's Day gift to your parents on the day you were born. :)

Don't lump birthdays with the other holidays, especially Valentine's Day. Birthdays only happen once a year! As for Valentine's Day, the concept of showing love does not happen once a year! Why feel obligated to send a card or flower on Valentine's Day when you don't do it on the other 364 days a year? Don't give me the excuse that you are doing it since others are and because it is also cheap.

This has nothing to do with my marital status. Yes, I am single, but this has nothing to do with Valentine's Day. Love isn't found on only one day if you get the gist of it.

Hey, you. This thread is not for debating Valentine's Day. I intended for it to be about people who have plans to have a lovely day together. You are ruining the thread, and it's on the verge of getting locked up, so either be nice, or go somewhere else. I want people to share their plans, and not have it ruined. I can see some people aren't happy with what you are doing, and I'm getting unhappy that you are ruining the thread.

Cuz its wrong to give something special once a year!!! Also canceling my plans for this valentines, no more brownies!!!
How many times per year do you expect to go to Disneyland?

Dear Yoda....we know. Okay we know, we do not need you to tell us that. We are not going to NOT celebrate just because we can show are love on all the other days as well.

No go away. I also know its not nice to call people names.....I just don't give a shit. I'm not always nice, you annoy the ever living crap out of me. I do have to be nice to you. It's also not nice to preach at people but you do it that all the time as well. So there you go.

Ambrosia, I was just stating why Valentine's Day is overrated and shouldn't be celebrated without including religious references. Just because there are Valentine's Day cards and flowers in enormous stock in stores, it doesn't mean I have to send someone a card or flower in order to express my love on that day.

Here's one food for thought. People are EXPECTING to get something on Valentine's Day. It is practically useless to give people something they expect. Love should be given when people don't expect it. This is how true love is given. It is just like the quote: Expect the unexpected.

I am not preaching. I am just stating the logic behind the foolishness of celebrating a holiday when love should be given 365 days a year without having the need to make a singular day more important than the other 364 days of the year.

Disneyland can be attended 365 days a year right? I don't have to go to Disneyland in order to celebrate Valentine's Day. I can just go there and spend time with loved one without celebrating Valentine's Day.

Such a waste on wishing for such a thing, Ambrosia. It doesn't matter which day Valentine's Day fell on because nothing would change other than the fact it would still be commercialized. This is yet another reason why love shouldn't hinge on just one day!

Good for you, Reba. :applause:

Probably not even once a year. And with all seriousness i did enjoy ot and i think it would have been fone to have a small dinner or anything but im still happy we went.

Sounds like he made you mad I'm guessing??? Gong to Disneyland is special and a lot of fun. Who cares if it is just once a year.

Yes, we have birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Anniversaries, Christmas, Thanksgiving to give love and happiness day. I don't think everyone is required to give love 365 days a year... if both shows love with gifts once a while such as above... it's still a good thing. Of course with a hug and kisses also help with the love. Gifts doesn't have to be all the time. ;)

:D

All my brothers and sisters birthdays are special, except Josh but maybe his not being special makes it special lol. My sister Ang was born on Father's Day, that day changes every year but when she was born it was. My sister Allysha was born on my parents anniversary. My brothers Jon and Jake have the same birthday (jake is the Filipino one that's adopted) and then there's Josh.
Weird, Anywho my ex husband is totally unromantic. My next man better do up valentines and my birthday big :D it's a double whammy but my ex was like yoda over there, it could have been any day of the year the way he'd be about. 15 years we were married, no flowers even. It's my birthday AND Valentines, how bad can you be right?

Any of these guys in the eye candy thread you have.... better be a romantic type to give you flowers, birthday and Valentines! :thumb:

:D

I've even gave my neighbors a Valentine Card...just to say Happy Valentine's Day......surely Im not in love with them!...Its just the thought...and No, I'm not apt to go over there every day, 365 days of the year to tell them they are the best neighbors ever, and I love 'em!....:giggle:

I've also given or mailed out a Valentine Card to a "secret person"...:giggle:...who didn't know I really liked him...soooo...nothing wrong with thinking someone is a "hottie"...:laugh2:...and a Valentine Card breaks the ice....

So this thread has reminded me to get out to Hallmark and get my Cards in the mail.....better than a "late night phone call" to someone that I do care about...:giggle:

Dont worry. Im not mad at him. Im just joking. But i did tell him that right now. He had a funny look on his face. Poor guy, the girl he is marrying....lol. (i did tell him it was a joke)

We should give love 365 days a year. If you claim we are not required to give love 365 days a year, then you are claiming a man doesn't have to show his wife love on some days in the marriage. Love should be shown 365 days a year no matter how big or small.

Yes, of course, gifts doesn't have to be given in order to show one's love because after all, love cannot be purchased with money.

Hey now! Don't lump me in with someone who is or would be unromantic. Don't assume that just because I don't celebrate Valentine's Day that I am unromantic. The converse is actually true. I don't need a holiday to dictate how and when to send someone my love when in actuality, it should be given 365 days a year. Is Valentine's Day the only day a lady would want [or even expect] to get a card/flowers/gifts/hugs/kisses from a significant other?

Hey, hey, Yoda, we heard you the first time; now go away, ok?
