Who says one needs to have a date in order to celebrate Valentine's Day? Like I have said, this holiday like others are overrated.

I only state this because of how you have labelled me.

You could make her a cake and send it in a refrigerated truck!

We will be in Vegas for a bowling tournament so for dinner on the 14th, we will have a special dinner that only Vegas knows how to throw.....:D

:laugh2: Plus this is a ChicagoBlue thread so that's a double whammy. At this point it's really a betting game of WHEN it gets locked.

Sorry to hear about the single valentine day, hope you can at least make the best of it.

Yes Valentines Day is commercialized, so is Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving etc etc etc. so freaking what? Who said Valentines Day is the ONLY day to show your loved ones you love them?? That's freaking retarded. If you think that's what Valentines Day is, you yourself are getting swept up in the commercializations.

But do continue your lecturing and educating all of us please. I'm sure everyone loves it and appreciates it. Carry on.......

Edited to add: also, I only appreciate my parents on mothers and Father's Day, so consider this lecture a threefor, you skip the lecture on those days, we're getting it now. Thank you in advance.

If you were paying attention to this thread, you would have seen my earlier posts in which I astutely pointed out that Valentine's Day is not the only day that a person should show his/her love for a significant other, let alone a friend or a family member.

You only appreciate your parents on Mother's and Father's Day? Does that mean you don't appreciate your parents on the other 363 days of the year? It is ridiculous for these holidays to be established when we should love and appreciate each other 365 days a year. People cave under the pressure of feeling obligated in buying gifts and cards on these holidays when they just can one way or another tell people they love them everyday. A gift or basket of flowers most certainly is not the only way to tell someone you love them. That's why in an earlier post I said I found it hilarious to see men feel obligated at stores to buy flowers for their significant other. Showing love is not done out of obligation, but rather from the heart.

What are you doing if Mark is in Atlanta?

I'm looking for cheesehead.

Cheddar, cheddar, cheddar!!!!

Going to show my husband my love that I don't show on the other 364 days of the year.

Oh for the love of God man, you're a moron. I was being sarcastic, and poking fun if you a bit. Aaaaaand here's your sign...

:hmm: I'm betting you're not going to understand that reference. There's a comedian who's whole bit is about stupid people needing to wear signs so you don't ask bother asking them anything. So, that was your "I'm stupid" sign, wear it well.

Valentine's Day IS overrated, but what's the point of just making that night special because everyone else is doing it? Doing a picnic thing can be done on any of the other 364 nights of the year right? :)

Valentine's Day like I have mentioned already shouldn't be a special day that is more important than the other 364 days of the year. Love isn't to be just given on just one day. A card shouldn't just have to be given on one day. Gifts shouldn't just have to be given on one day. Flowers and candies can be given on the other 364 days of the year. Oh, by the way, Valentine's Day is a pagan holiday!

People remember Valentine's Day....Anniversaries...Birthdays...Christmas...Thanksgiving...Graduations...list goes on and on....it's the thought that counts. And some people live too far away, so a card or flowers has to suffix...some people travel too...

Dunno why ur so anti-Valentine....

No more criticism please! This thread is for people who have plans for Valentine's Day!

Perhaps which is why he been single... :dunno:

Ambrosia, it is not nice to call people names. I understood that reference very well. However, you have to understand that it can be difficult to detect if one is being sarcastic or not online since facial expressions are not included. You didn't even include smiley faces in that post. Haha.

Don't lump birthdays with the other holidays, especially Valentine's Day. Birthdays only happen once a year! As for Valentine's Day, the concept of showing love does not happen once a year! Why feel obligated to send a card or flower on Valentine's Day when you don't do it on the other 364 days a year? Don't give me the excuse that you are doing it since others are and because it is also cheap.

This has nothing to do with my marital status. Yes, I am single, but this has nothing to do with Valentine's Day. Love isn't found on only one day if you get the gist of it.

Dear Yoda....we know. Okay we know, we do not need you to tell us that. We are not going to NOT celebrate just because we can show are love on all the other days as well.

No go away. I also know its not nice to call people names.....I just don't give a shit. I'm not always nice, you annoy the ever living crap out of me. I do have to be nice to you. It's also not nice to preach at people but you do it that all the time as well. So there you go.

*sigh* going to go tell my fiance he was wrong for taking me to Disneyland last year in valentines.

Perhaps which is why he been single... :dunno:

HAHA Calvin that is exactly what I was going to say:laugh2:

My Hubby is the most romantic person I know. He makes me feel special every day. Valentines Day is a bonus for us. I am truly blessed when it comes to love. AHHHHHHHH

OH....definitely go out for dinner and a yummy dessert.
