What part of her "preaching" did the mother not practice?...With her daughter being pregnant before marriage, social conservatives will question her mother's ability to practice what she preaches within her own family....
Apparently some people don't have much exposure to young teen school girls like I do. I see that so-called "bump" on plenty of non-pregnant girls in the middle school, high school, and college. It's the combination of low-riding underwear, skirts, and pants, with the Spandex clingy tops, or sometimes with the loose "smock" tops. I see the same girls, week after week, looking "pregnant" one day, and not the next, then bumpy again. It's the clothes and posture, not a baby. I dare say, it's even a "trend" that some girls like to emphasize. That's okay!
i clicked on the picture and especially get a closer look and it's hard to tell if it's a 'bump' or ??????
tsk tsk tsk....... somebody's playing dirty...
Yes.
Who?
Yes I do darn about it. That is my IHMO.Maybe so?!
But didn't you realize that the father is the Mr. mom for their family?
I don't give it any dam*n about her daughter (age 17) being pregnant and shouldn't consider me to vote for Cain/Palin if I choose to. I find it rather amusing that some people and media made it a big deal out of it... but that's their opinions.

Since Governor Palin was open and forthright before the fact became public, her family will not be scrutinized, as you suggest.
I don't think Palin is a preacher. If she believes that sex before marriage is a sin, and that is what she taught her daughter, then it only proves that children have free will and sometimes make the wrong choices in life. That is the daughter's sin, not the mother's. The important thing now is how the family handles the situation. If the daughter has acknowledge her sin and repentance to her mother, and her mother forgave her, then what's to backfire? If the mother had encouraged the daughter to get an abortion and keep the pregnancy a secret, then THAT would have been a real problem for Palin's credibility for sure.
If the girl is running for political office then that could apply. But she is not.
It's funny how Palin's children are up for scrutiny and criticism but Democrats' children have been "hands off" every since the first campaign of Bill Clinton.

I would need more than a "bumpy" photo to convince me of anything.
And Bushes too. It's simple because the Obama's and the Clinton's have appealed to the media to leave their children alone.
The Palin's haven't made that appeal yet.
Therefore their children will be scrutinized until an appeal is made by them.

I think someone is watching too much "Desperate Housewives."

Right..
Again... is that important?!?
This is WEIRD.. When McCain announced his VP pick, I did a bit research and ran into Gov Sarah Palin's family portrait and I noticed her cute older daughter and from the photo, she looked a bit pregnant, I just dismissed it as small fat belly. Now 2 days later, they news are saying she is pregnant.. Damn.. I feel sorry for her, she is TOO young to have baby..
The photo is at Alaska Governor Sarah Palin

Not when she is running for VP with Mc Cain. We have right to know who she is and what her background is. Now I made my own decision, I will not vote for Mc Cain and Palin.
