My advice is i would tell your dad to biult a woodfence, my dog was a goldenretriever ,a hunting dog climb over the chain link type fence. Is now gone her name was aspen. This is the second dog i lost, becuz they are labs made to climb anything or jump in the pool or pond etc so you might want to tell him.

Well to be honest My family never leaves pets outside chain, the only time they let the pets go out if they have to do their business, but of course with the leash on.Of course, They let the dog play out in the back with an Adult watching. I think pets should be staying indoor more than outdoors being chain up, of course that is IMO.

Here, we have a wooden fence all around the backyard allowing total freedom for my dogs to run around.

They spend their time outside as long as they want to, unless if we are out somewhere or if they don't stop barking. But during the winter time, they prefer to stay in, but they love to play in the snow.

I like that idea better than having the dog being chain up in the backyard or neglect while nobody is watching the dog.

Hi Cheri:

If you read harleymn’s post again, you will see he/she was not talking about dog being chained. harleymn was talking about chain link FENCE. :)

Oh Opps! You correct My apology Harlymn. My dad has a very big yard, but I could suggest him with your advice. But, I think he wouldn't want to block the woods area which far in his backyard. :)

Since they also have metal fences that you can have it higher now, since the people who lives across the street from me has that and their fence is higher enough for their big dogs and they wouldn't jumped over the fence, it doesn't have to be wood , as long the fence is higher enough for bigger dogs so they don't jump over the fence, they had their dogs for 9 years now since I've lived on the same street and they never once jumped over it....

Cheri,

I did not know dad got a new puppy until RR told me about it earlier this evening....cute puppy!

Nice dogs you got there girl! :)

Sorry I no longer have any pets this time, but
someday I'd like to have a dog again.

Angel, aw that's so adorable !!
My brother used to have a black lab
called "Midnight" too Nice photos...

And a little off topic here, poke at Angel...
it's amazing no one said anything
about your photo of RoadRunner with Midnight
I ought to compliment that RR is a Good-Looking guy !!!
(Geez, I don't mean to embarrass RR here :)
It's not the outlook that only counts, but inside of him
apparently being the most humble guy even
without any streaks of ego !!
Almost same as my deaf brother,
most people said that he's very Handsome, but
he's also very Humble and NO Egos at all ! :)
That's very rare...

P.S. Of course, any guy "who claim about himself
that he is handsome/humble" is NOT humble at all...

LOL Thanks girl! , that's what Roadrunner said the other day, that no one really said anything about him but only about our cats, so thanks for nice compliment about him, I'm sure he would appreciate it very much! ....

Those are my two guinea pigs, but they both died last summer, I still miss them very much, I had them since I was little. The black piggie was called Buffy and the white one was called TinTin (both females)

I just got a dog from the Dogs Home in November, he's bonkers! But soo sweet, he is called Scooby

Thanks!

Guinea pigs can live up to 10 years, Buffy and Tintin both lived for 6 years. I had two before that, but I haven't got pictures of them.

I couldn't get anymore piggies as I started university last September and I wouldn't have been able to look after them
