I've been in that Albertson's on East 4th Plain...not a really good neighborhood, so I cankinda understand the guy's point. But is it really necessary? He's not a LEO.

well he is free to carry one just as much as anybody is free to choose to drive a Hummer or Mini Cooper.

Not acting in the capacity of a LEO? Then exactly what is he acting in the capacity of that would make a weapon in a grocery story necessary? Is he planning to target practice with beer cans or paper plates? What is life-threatening in the cereal aisle?

Just because he can have a weapon in a store doesn't make it appropriate. There is a place and time for all things. I love guns, but wouldn't dream of taking one into a mall or grocery store and openly display it.

I bet people in that Mall in Omaha a couple of years back would think differently. I bet the wish he would have been standing right beside them.

Anybody is free to choose whatever they want to drive... like a small person driving a very large vehicle that can easily kill anybody in front of it. So is it really necessary for a small person to drive a very large vehicle?

yes he's acting in the capacity of a law-abiding armed citizen with legal rights recognized by his state. why always think some trouble is going to happen? You'll have to try and show me a few links that support your concern cuz I haven't heard any incidents like this going bad.

what's the difference if he's doing CCW? if he's bringing a gun - either CCW or OC... then he must have thought trouble is going to happen.
 
I'm just wondering, can I call the police and ticket someone who is dressed in a karate uniform practicing kicks and hits because it scares me?

A black belt is considered a weapon .... just saying.

Oh there's a difference alright. It's how he is perceived for one thing.

It'll happen sooner or later. Someone will test him just to see if he means it. Or maybe he just thinks they are testing him.
 
Yeah, those silly martial arts experts .. they must be practicing because they expect trouble or something.

I mean, why should you learn martial arts, you can always call the police if someone attacks you or something.

You know....if you saw someone with a gun would you really freak out? Or would you be calm and actually observe the persons behavior?

Is there a way that a person can let others know that they are Open Carry Certified?

Like a pin or something?

Jiro? Would it be difficult to have access to a gun that is concealed?

Open Carry and Concealed what are the pro's and con's?

My point is, if the person was doing something lawful, should they get harassed for it because someone else was "frightened"?

Suppose I go to eat at a restaurant, and this overly obese short lady comes in with red hair twice the height that she is, and it gives me nightmares, can I call the police because she scared me?

see above. a link to news article relating to what you just said would be nice.

I'm not really interested in "maybe" game because it's silly. Germany might be a fitting home for you since majority of its new laws are the result of both "maybe" and knee-jerk reactions from just 1 or 2 tragic incidents. I'm glad this country doesn't operate on maybe.
