Ahhh...the over confidence and mistaken conclusions of the ill informed and unexperienced. Touching.
Nice knowing that the mirror is very clear..

Deja vu, people, deja vu. Compare some of the posts here with the posts by a recently banned member. Striking similarities.
i agree you!um.... the reason why online poker sites are not in USA is because it's ILLEGAL.... hence we've been telling you that online poker is illegal in USA.
We've never said PLAYING online poker is illegal.
Cuz I respond to your attempts to insult me? right...+
and I've been harping about playing online poker.... hmm? you guys the one who going off the point.
They aren't.
they are.
Theres a reason a "pro" hasn't won the WSOP main event since 2000. At least when youre talking tournaments. The only exception is probaly Phil Ivey who is just a beast.
If you were smart and had money to bet, you would put money down on a pocket fives top 10 player than a has-been pro who cant seem to adjust to the nature of which a No-Limit Texas hold em tournament is conducted these days. Fact.
And allow me to say if I were to bring a laptop into a police station in Hoboken, New Jersey, opened it up and started playing 5/10 pot limit omaha with real dollars and cents being wagered, I wouldnt be arrested. If I did the same thing in Seattle, Washington I would be as I think its the only state (even though I saw illinois as well in this thread) that has a law in place physically stating participation is a crime. However, if I was to start a poker site next door with payment processing and the whole 9 yards, I would be shut down. If I were to run a bank that allowed transactions through the bank to fund a bankroll, to pay players back in an american bank account--the bank I'm running would be reprimanded and/or shut down as well. The law is warped on this but I dont see Tom Dwan aka "Durrrrrrr" with his 10 million dollar bankroll in a orange jumpsuit anytime soon because he earned every penny through the poker sites.
Just a thought...
Wouldn't it be great if they could tax online poker and let that bulk of the taxes go to education? Just imagine...we'd have MONEY for schools! Quality education for all. If the US was smart, they would capitalize and reap the benefits of legalizing (and regulating) marijuana and poker. We'd never have to worry about budget cuts in education again.
If you're judging by the main event winnings..... i'll toss a name out for you to think about.. Helmuth, for his 2011 wsop run...
and for someone who supposedly plays poker, I would expect you to also include the odds of 6000+ people vs what, 30 household named pros?.. Of course, it's a feat for a famed pro just to make it to the final table.
Hellmuth is terrible, imo. I wouldnt give that dickhead an ounce of respect in the poker world. Obviously poker is poker but the ones with the internet backgrounds are the ones who've been tearing it up the last 5 years. In the debate of skill vs luck, skill ought to win 90% of the time, its just that some people have figured out that you dont have to wait for aces and kings to drag a huge pot now and most of those were born and bred from the 'net.
You could be a high stakes guy with your little 25/50$ no limit credentials but from what it sounds like, gathering poker information from you is the same as taking sex education as a credentialed whore as your teacher.
I dont like Helmuth personally, but hey. His records speak for himself. No matter how his personality is.
That coupled with other live pros with their runs this year kinda makes your claim doubtful in my opinion.
Now if you were going to swear by the online players, why have matusow in your signature as a god.... ha.
Didn't realize this thread got revived..
Even Hellmuth plays online and was sponsored by a site. However, Hellmuth isn't deserving of his reputation despite his "records". Variance can hit anyone in the face repeatedly especially if Hellmuth got most of his wins in a time where tournaments were mostly 100-200 players..
All of the pros supposedly play online, ferguson, ivey, brunson, matusow, greenstein, etc etc etc....
If you're gonna judge by wins and that alone... Fine by me. I just simply disagree.
