Note the singular..."poll".

Note the plural ....."polls".

Note the combining of polls from a variety of sources to paint a picture as I have shown a la Real Clear Politics combined polls chart results.

I remain correct that looking at a "poll" (singular) is to be taken with a grain of salt. This includes polls from a single source but the case gets stronger with longer term polling results. And then you have the combining of the polls from various sources which makes the strongest case. Not foolproof. Not a guarantee. But it certainly does paint a nice picture. Or in the case, a bleak picture.

Like I said, I don't believe in any polls. ;)

If you support FDR's agenda then you are not true conservative, man.

The meaning of the word "conservative" in the modern sense is pretty distinct when it comes to ideology and philosophy. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and such are pretty much a "Ponzi scheme" because just like FDR the current president believes in bigger govt and more control over people when we have dwindling tax revenues and increasing taxes (including soon on middle income group) that will inevitably cause everything to move downward like falling dominos. We don't have the money. Conservatism is about fiscal responsibility, too. The current situation and into the very near future are not sustainable. Money does not grow on trees. Limited govt is the answer. FDR never believed that. Less taxes. FDR never believed that. He made sure the poor were taxed, too, which caused the depression to stretch out even longer. Nor did he believe that capitalism would work after all it's the private sectors that make the products, goods and services, not the govt. Certainly not a definition of conservatism by far in the general sense with FDR. Not even close.

That's fine. However, in a Democratic-controlled Congress they do look at polls and they are getting worried since when it comes to midterm voting it's the older voters that do the most the voting and certainly the older voters are not liking what they are seeing and hearing today.

Excellent summary of Kokonut's politics. :bowlol:

I got a groupie! :giggle: Just kidding.
I had to put him on "ignore" because there was no debating. It was just a yell fest. A closed mind is soon an empty mind. Sometimes, the more somebody posts, the smarter I begin to look. Make sense?

LOL. I have him on ignore as well. He's the only person in my two years of posting here who's on ignore. Some of my posts in reply to kokonut were intended to educate others rather than actually debating him because no matter how I (and others) debate him, he's unable to accept anything contrary to what he holds true. He's a true ideologue.

I know exactly what you mean. I know someone who has a very rigid set of beliefs and he has a very difficult time new incorporating new information even when it involves his field; he's very smart but can appear ignorant to others for this reason. It's as if learning stopped for him once he got his degree. I used to think he just wasn't curious but nowadays I realize it's because he has a great deal of difficulty accepting new information.

I won't make any assumptions on anyone here, but he is the only "ignore" I have as well. Sad, because I enjoy a good debate. I keep explaining that I am a middle of the road Independent, with a slight left lean. Did not matter. No worries.

To the OP: Sorry for the temporary hijacking. I apologize.

Ostriches do flock together when faced the ultimate reality of things. Plenty of holes to stick their heads in. If you cannot come with a substantive argument to defend your position then the answer isn't, obviously so, to stick your head in the sand hoping things will go away. Sad chocie.

He seems bitter. Note all the syntax and grammatical errors in the post. Must have been pumped up when writing. Maybe beat those views into me. *shrugs*

If "a poll" is invalid and unreliable, then it doesn't matter how many of them you combine. They are still cummulatively unrealiable and invalid. More nonsense lumped together doesn't not create anything more than a bunch of nonsense.

Noooooo.

Read .....carefully....

It's the mainstream media (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, NYTimes, WaPo, Newsweek, Time (guess how many times he was on the front cover of time in a year?) etc) who painted him as the "messiah." Not Obama himself. He let his lackeys do the adoring and adulation.

I continue to be right how the MSM try to paint him as a messiah. Here it is again, only this time it's Newsweek with their cover of the messiah to come out soon.

Obama had casually dropped his own name into Ronald Reagan’s official biography on The White House, claiming credit for taking up the mantle of Reagan’s tax reform advocacy with his “Buffett Rule” gimmick. My first thought was, he must be joking. But he wasn’t—it turns out Obama has added bullet points bragging about his own accomplishments to the biographical sketches of every single U.S. president since Calvin Coolidge (except, for some reason, Gerald Ford). Here are a few examples:

On Feb. 22, 1924 Calvin Coolidge became the first president to make a public radio address to the American people. President Coolidge later helped create the Federal Radio Commission, which has now evolved to become the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). President Obama became the first president to hold virtual gatherings and town halls using Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.

In a 1946 letter to the National Urban League, President Truman wrote that the government has “an obligation to see that the civil rights of every citizen are fully and equally protected.” He ended racial segregation in civil service and the armed forces in 1948. Today the Obama administration continues to strive toward upholding the civil rights of its citizens, repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, allowing people of all sexual orientations to serve openly in our armed forces.
