Obama legalizes horse slaughter for human consumption

As for eating horse meat; who the fark cares? Enough of the anthropomorphizing. From a moral/ethical standpoint, why is it wrong to eat one animal and not another? Either it's okay to eat em all, or it's not okay to eat any of them. From a health standpoint, there are plenty of good reasons why we don't eat certain animals.

Now, bring me a horse steak. I heard that shit is tasty!

Nothing more delicious than a pony t-bone!:giggle:

Ok what the hell????? Read my screenname. Damn it Obama you said you were gotta sign it and now you did. shaking my head. Yea I am pissed. I feel horse is just a pet just like a cat or a dog. Wake up ppl. Those who do eat horse are a sick ppl. I am outta here. :io:

Okay so people who also eat cows, chickens, cats, dogs, frogs, and even gators are sick too. gotacha. Welcome to the food chain.

none of it surprised me, think of it as a means to combat food (meat) shortage in the long term....next will be zoo animals, then humans.....

Bugs won't eat genetically modified grain, I heard. I am not sure, but I have read somewhere that if you have two piles of grain, one normal and the other modified, they will always scarf down the regular seeds and ignore the other.
Anyway, I wonder how a genetically modified pony would fare with a pack of wolves. :hmm:

Would cloning count as genetically modified?

My dad told me that cats taste like chicken and human beings taste like pork. He was a POW in WWII.

Wow Beowulf. That's intense. I'm glad your dad had the strength and survival skills to get out alive. Does he freely talk about his WWII experiences with you? My Grandpa was in the 84th Infantry, the Railsplitters. One of the more well known battles he fought in was Battle of the Bulge. He rarely talked about what he went through. It wasn't until close to the end that he started talking more. I wish I had asked more questions when he was alive. We have some interesting artifacts from his time in the war. Is your dad still living?

He told me a little bit, but I will keep them under my hat.
He died peacefully in his sleep July 4 of this year.
He was 90 years old.

it's different.

cloning means exactly same.
genetically modified means it's enhanced or adjusted.

btw - I'm not a wolf. more like a lazy bear.

Isn't the process for cloning and genetically modifying basically the same? Take some DNA material, squirt it into an egg, bring it to term and.. Boom! a new living animal (or plant).

(I'm kidding, I realize genetic manipulation involves using a virus or other method to swap out specific genes so the end product is genetically different from the origional.)

I understand. I'm sorry that he's passed, but I'm happy he was a strong man and was able to have a lifetime of memories with you. It sounds like his exit from this earthly plane was all one could ask for.

I am very into history and genealogy, and I value what they did in order to allow us to be where we're at today. If you haven't yet, I would consider writing down the stories he shared with you while they are still fresh in your mind. You could just put it away in a box- years from now you'll probably be happy you did it. Documenting experiences such as that which your father went through have tremendous value- especially for the generations to come. I think it makes history more personal and tangible for people. Just an idea...

Ironically enough, I have The View on (not really watching it) and they just started talking about WWII and how this womans Grandma didn't talk about her experiences until she was 85.

Sorry to hear about your father's passing.

My Grandfather in law was a Navy Officer in WWII and served in the third wave of the D-Day invasion. He also served in Korea.

My Grandmother in law's brother is also a WWII veteran and retired from the Army after 30 years as a Colonel.

My own grandfather was too young, however his older brother served in North Africa, Italy and Germany in WWII in the 101st Airborne.

Excuse me - but you are being rude again. I was not directing those comments to you. And again, it was not off topic, it was a response to someone other than you that was discussing their father and WWII.

But feel free to go through this thread and single out every other person who has gone off topic and start your own thread about it.

:ty:

oh, and btw, while you are doing that - accuse them of being 4 different AD members all in one.
