Meh, I am merely supporting a poster's right to respond kindly to another poster. Especially when that person is the OP. *shrug*
Yeah, now I get the feeling I said something weird.

that was actually pretty funny
Yes it was! (But now I am afraid I will be hit by lightning for daring to laugh.)

Oh, you poor thing. The first time around was bad enough. You had to go for syndication. It's enough to make you want to eat a big old horse burger!:P But you can now, because it is legal to slaughter the horse in the U.S. now. Before you had to ship to Canada and then have the meat shipped backk in. Way to much trouble to go to for a horse burger.
...and cow patties.Horse pies.
...and cow patties.
Jim Stafford
Cow Patti
From the bad lands came the killer
He lived by the knife and the gun
He'd cut you just for standing
And shoot ya if ya tried to run
He was big as a tree and did as he pleased
And everything he did was bad
And they said if you was to kill him
It'd only make him mad
From the good lands came the cowgirl
Patti was her name
She was hot on the trail of that killer
On a moped she called Flame
Coz the killer had killed her daddy
For spittin' in the road
You only had to kill her daddy once
To get that girl P.O.'d
Chorus:
Yippie eye eh Cow Patti
Yippie eye eh Cow Patti
She rode into town to find the man that killed her daddy
Yippie eye eh Cow Patti
The killer hit town at daybreak
Ate the door of the local saloon
He started to drink you could tell
He was thinking there'll be a showdown soon
Patti hit town in a cloud of dust
Ol' Flame was buzzin' like a saw
And the whole town got quiet as a church
When the killer stepped out for the draw
Forty shots rang out
Forty people fell
Patti and the killer missed each other
But they shot that town to hell
Chorus
The killer took a step towards Patti
Said it's time I gunned you down
But he slipped in something that was layin' in the street
And was shot before he hit the ground
Yes, the killer slipped and it cost him his life
And Patti said as she roared out of town
You gotta watch your step
When you know the chips are down
Cow patties with a side of buffalo chips.
Any thoughts on the article referenced in the OP?
Don't like it as I won't be surprised if they want to do the unwanted dogs and cats as well, giving the excuse of solving the homeless pets problem when they are really after profits. I won't be surprised if they stoop to stealing horses, dogs and cats. After all, they are interested in one thing only - profits.
Who is they?
Isn't stealing horses still a hanging offense in Texas?
wouldn't be surprised if it was. there are some old laws that have yet to be made defunct. For example, it's against the law to use an elephant to plow the cotton fields in North Carolina or to sing off-key
Let's see what they say about Texas: here's one law "A recently passed anticrime law requires criminals to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or in writing, and to explain the nature of the crime to be committed."
Hahaha...
One can click on their state and see what silly laws still exist here: Dumb Laws in Texas. Crazy Texas Laws. We have weird laws, strange laws, and just plain crazy laws!
