NTID has a new building in Fall 2006.

Now the concrete pieces had been removed from the hole and there's only dirt there. I love the color lighting they have on the edge of the dropped ceiling in commons. It can cycle through colors and show scrolling rainbow colors.

yup, they're under construction right now. Loud noises and it scared the hell out of me. Jeez!

You should have seen the pile driver they used when they built the Field House. They put a tunnel over the part of the quarter mile next to where they were building and the pile driver made the tunnel's windows and walls shake. :-o

That's interesting. I am wondering if you would take some pictures of the area for the updates. I hope that you have a digital camera.

I think that Werido is become hearing nowaday!

Last night, I saw that they had filled in the circle with what looked like concrete. I do have a digital camera, so I'll take some pictures today.

Here is a picture of the epb quad from my walk today. It looks like the circle was filled with gravel.

I never visit there but I want to visit there someday. I don't know that NTID will set up and will changes room the buliding next year.

Very nice picture. Now, I see that these Sycamore trees are still there. Sigh, I am so stupid that I wrote my previous posts about the trees. I thought someone told me about cutting down the trees. Indeed, it looks better.

I think I do not remember the circle. How about if they would install a nice water fountain? :ugh:

Here are the preliminary designs for the outside of the new Student Development Center...

In 200, you'll notice a yellow circle. That's the new circle. You'll also see a gray circle outline that overlaps the yellow circle. That is the "memory" of the old circle that they just dug up.

Here's the 3D model of the new Student Development Center...

The black parts are the original buildings. The white parts are the expansion that they will be doing. You'll see that it's a HUGE expansion.

The trees that were inside the depression in the circle are gone.

I will be at NTID next Tuesday night and I'll see them myself. :) I am sure I'll be confused! LOL! Last time I was there probably 2 years ago.

I saw those designs of the new building in LBJ. They reminded me how the field house looked a lot like the designs for it. It's like virtual reality is merging with reality. :-o

I saw the plans for the site and they'll plant a lot of trees. There'll be a lawn over part of the current circle and a Secret garden where that funny looking little tree by Peterson's is.
The plans also showed a future sculpture in the center of the new circle. I wonder how they'll decide what the design will be.

I don't like modern architecture. But that is cool regardless.

I almost applied to RIT when I was considering different colleges in high school.

Now they are digging a trench for the foundation. There are forms with concrete and rebars in them there. Someone was stupid and threw some Reporter magazines into the trench.
They also installed stairs in the biosciences building. There are lights on the ceilings of that building for workers. It looks pretty at night.

The older buildings are boxes of concrete with brick skin. Newer ones have more glass and metal surfaces. I found a page brutalism.
They built some things stupid that cause things like the winds between building one and the bookstore that can be cold. :cold:

Oh really.

There was a tunnel from a dorm to RIT buildings. I found it out when I was a student. That tunnel was shut down because of the rape issue. But, there are many tunnels in the dormitory areas, and they do not have a problem since then. Why not - they should install some windows and security cameras in that tunnel (to RIT buildings), and it should be fine. Everyone hate to walk outside in the freezing windy days in the winter. What a waste of money that no one ever walk thru that tunnel. Actually, I thought that NTID is almost broke. :dunno:

There was never a tunnel at the Quarter Mile (bridge between dorm and RIT building). There was never a rape that lead to the removal of the so-called tunnel.

They've made more of the foundation of the sdc building. Now the bioscience building has stairs and lots of insulation up. They also had been digging more trenches there for putting down ducts.
