It is not a surprising news about Lance. I have always thought he was a bit girly.

I dont think anyone was saying that you need to be rich and famous to accomplish your goals or make a sucess of your self. The reason a lot of those celebrities didnt come out upon their inital onset of fame is because its hard. Telling my best friend I was gay was incredibly difficult, I cant imagine what announcing being gay to the entire world population must feel like. I dont blame anyone for protecting them selves against a lot of unnecessary hate, discrimination and gossip by not announcing to the world something that really is none of their business.

People don't need to know, just tell them to keep their noses out of your business.

I personally believe that Lance came out because rumors were starting to get around about him being with some guy from from amazing race, the tv show. Its really difficult to live with all kinds of rumors circulating about you, while having no control over them. Rumors in highschool are bad enough, imagine what it must be like to have magazines, websites, newspapers, tv shows and thousands of people gossiping about you daily? He came out publically to be able to discuss the rumors being false.

If it was about wanting attention I am sure there are many things he could have done that would get him attention, with out having all the bible thumpers and religious right up his bum.

Same thing people attack Oprah and her friend Gayle, and kept saying
they are gay and Oprah kept defending herself... One day, she might
give up and say she is gay and the jealous people will be satisfy and then she might lose her milllion dollar tv show due to low rating.

This is what it is all about, people are trying seek power over you...
if you're gay, it is all over for you... they wanna use the weakness
you have and rant it all over the place and have control over you.

That is life and it sucks.

Just because you apparently disagree with his decision to come out, why are you so incredibly narrow minded to the fact that coming out, isnt going to help his career, he didnt do it for attention, he didnt do it to get attention. I didnt say that the bible thumpers influenced him to come out, I said that if anything him coming out, would only turn more people against him. Hes in the public light, he 'says' came out because there were tons of rumors and he felt the personal need to sort things out and publically denounce them which in turn meant him having to come out. Its just like anyone annoucning anything personal, ie 'theyre getting married, theyre pregnant, they were diagnosed with a disease, they are moving, they just got a new job' whatever it maybe when were proud or happy about something we want others to know. While I dont know, no one other than him really knows why he came out, he did and i think its something that should be appluaded, it takes a lot of courage and personal strength to tell something so controversial to the world, much less your small group of friends and family.

If youre this upset about him coming out and youre taking the defense of 'i just dont know why we need to know' why bother acknowledging it? Just ignore it.

Just out of personal curiosity, how old are you? I have no intentions of calling you any of the above names you mentioned but rather, simply ignorant and possibly incredibly immature. I have come across many people that disagree with, or dont approve of homosexuality. And thats grand, its fine, I dont need or desire anyones approval to be who I am.
