Ever come to find out something that you previously suspected and come to find out is true? This is one of those things.

NEW YORK -
Lance Bass, band member of 'N Sync, says he's gay and in a "very stable" relationship with a reality show star. Bass, who formed 'N Sync with
Justin Timberlake,
JC Chasez,
Joey Fatone and
Chris Kirkpatrick, tells People magazine that he didn't earlier disclose his sexuality because he didn't want to affect the group's popularity.

"I knew that I was in this popular band and I had four other guys' careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything," he tells the magazine.

'N Sync is known for a string of hits including "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me." The band went on hiatus in 2002. Bass has also found headlines for undertaking astronaut training and failing to raise money for a trip into space.

Bass says he wondered if his coming out could prompt "the end of 'N Sync." He explains, "So I had that weight on me of like, `Wow, if I ever let anyone know, it's bad.' So I just never did."

The singer says he's in a "very stable" relationship with 32-year-old actor Reichen Lehmkuhl, winner of season four of CBS' "Amazing Race."

Bass and Fatone, 29, are developing a sitcom pilot inspired by the screwball comedy "The Odd Couple," in which his character will be gay.

"The thing is, I'm not ashamed — that's the one thing I went to say," Bass says. "I don't think it's wrong, I'm not devastated going through this. I'm more liberated and happy than I've been my whole life. I'm just happy."

omg i didnt know he is gay.. but hope hes happy with his life.. :)
 
As soon as I heard this, that song "Which Backstreet Boy is Gay?" started running through my head.
 
Yeah I saw that news this morning. I don't know why anybody cares if anyone's gay. If hes happy with his sexual perference, good for him but why tell the world ? I don't care if someone is 'different'. Just my 2 cents.
 
Another gay person is out of closet? Wow! :eek2: After Ellen came out of the closet, the shock factor have worn off now....
 
My friend iceriver told me this morning and I was shocked that Lance is gay then I went to washroom and thinking ohhh I remember Lance like girl which he had girlfriend before but now gay ? wow I didnt know.
 
He is just trying to get more 5 minutes fame...

Nobody really cares....

next 5 years, he'll be Lance Bass who, because he has no talent.

Regardless of how "talentless" you think he is, he's sold millions of records, travelled the world, been adored by scores of crazed teenage girls, and made millions of dollars. Which of these have you accomplished?
 
He lied to many women and girls... he is just like Britney Spears,
a big Fraud.
Just like George Michael, Librace, Ellen Degen, Rosie O'D, Elton,
they all lied...
If they told people from beginning that they were gay, they would
be nobody... so they waited until they succeed and then tell
the world who they are...

I bought George Michael's album, and I had a huge crush on him, and
wish he had sang these songs to me... but he is GAY...
He should have sang for gay men, not decieved women like that.

I don't look at GM the same way anymore, all I see him now is one
of us women.

If I want to accomplish something, I would go out and do something
good for the people such as be a hospital volunteer, put a smile
on patients and all...

You don't have to be rich and famous to accomplish something in life.
And you don't have to sleep with the same sex either to accomplish.

Look at Michael Jackson, he sold million albums, and now he is broke
and bankrupt...
Same thing with MC Hammer...

Lance Bass's money won't last, because of taxes and all...
and that is why he is trying to stay in spotlight, trying to
make more money... by revealing he is gay and getting more attention.
 
And Lance Bass is worser than Martha Steward and Ken Lay, how dare we judge them for fraud...

Ken Lay, lay in rest in peace.
Martha Steward, I still admire you, and your food still look delicious.

I dont think anyone was saying that you need to be rich and famous to accomplish your goals or make a sucess of your self. The reason a lot of those celebrities didnt come out upon their inital onset of fame is because its hard. Telling my best friend I was gay was incredibly difficult, I cant imagine what announcing being gay to the entire world population must feel like. I dont blame anyone for protecting them selves against a lot of unnecessary hate, discrimination and gossip by not announcing to the world something that really is none of their business.

I personally belive that Lance came out because rumors were starting to get around about him being with some guy from from amazing race, the tv show. Its really difficult to live with all kinds of rumors circulating about you, while having no control over them. Rumors in highschool are bad enough, imagine what it must be like to have magazines, websites, newspapers, tv shows and thousands of people gossiping about you daily? He came out publically to be able to discuss the rumors being false.

If it was about wanting attention I am sure there are many things he could have done that would get him attention, with out having all the bible thumpers and religious right up his bum.
