Yes, the vegetable was red. I am not sure if it was an alcohol drink or not, I need to find it because it really worked well with spicy food. It was a great dinner drink and it tasted sweet.

My friend's name is pronounced like you would say "Key Bone" very fast with emphasis on "bone". He used to give me a soft drink which was pronounced like you would say "Vee Lock Shick Kay" and had tiny peices of rice in the drink. It was very good.

ah-ha! yep - it's kimchi (spicy vegetable) and sweet rice (the drink). Sweet Rice's usually for dessert.

I cannot comment until I have thoroughly read some facts. I will admit, I do not know enough about that topic and need to read up on it. I may have been taught about it from a politically biased teacher.

I'm not surprised and I don't blame you. Not many people know about Korean War..... hence "The Forgotten War". Chance is - in most high school textbooks, it's probably 1 paragraph or 1 page on Korean War.

I think WW2 and Vietnam War are pretty much the only historical foreign wars that most Americans are familiar with. :dunno:

That's sad. We had a whole chapter dedicated to it. Probably because Canada prides themselves with UN peacemaking missions (Korean War and Gulf War) and peacekeeping missions (pretty much every UN missions).

I don't think it was even taught in depth when I was in College. My High School History teacher revered MacArthur and he was a Viet Nam veteran ... same thing at Gallaudet.

The whole gist of what I was taught was that Americans claim we do not like using military force, yet we will stand next to our bombs ... smile, and "pet" them.

Well, his Pacific campaign and Japan's reconstruction is something to worship the man about.

Pure genius.

Why? Is it blasphemous? "Thou shall not worship false idols" and all? Relax. :) I am sure the English language will grant me creative liscence.

I am no Kurt Vonnegut though. Afterall, I did mispell "scapegoat" awhile back.

American Foreign Policy 1945-present

ah very interesting. Sounds like a course I would take. I can see why you felt your professor was biased and I'm not surprised. It is tough. All similar courses like American Foreign Policy do have professors with bias. It's up to dean of department to hire the one that dean feels comfortable with.

I always got A's in history and politics .... really, I should have majored in it because it consumes me. I have a friend who just told me he is running for State Senator.

Only time will tell if he is really serious or not. For me .... well, no thanks .. I am not a liar ;)

yummy but get back to N Korea threats.

that's how we make North Korea collapse.... by showing those food. You think North Koreans have food like that? What you think why they try to sneak into China or South Korea? It's common for them to sneak into China or Vietnam to sneak into South Korea.

I don't know if you remember but long while back when North Korea was hit by freak flood disaster. It destroyed a huge portion of its crop. That caused a serious famine to the point where people eat grass and tree bark. We really cannot stand by and let them starve to death because they are our family.
