No more mail delivered to homes?

they are refering to ones like for apartments/condos... wont happen in the cities.

talking about one on ever corner for that actual block/neighborhood.

I live in a condo and I am trying get it fixed to sell and move to another condo. I really hate condos but there is no way I can shovel snow with the winter we had . I hope to move closer to my daughter and hope I can find a condo that has the mailboxes inside . I bet the PO in my city will be closes in another ten years .

I prefer door slot mail over centralized mail delivery.

We have indivdual curbside mailbox.

I do not see too many new homes with door slots , they have mail boxes and a lot of people pick up their mail at the PO , they rent out mail boxes there.

If you have disabilities that limit or difficulties with walking so you can request USPS to delivery mail to door slot.

Wirelessly posted (Nexus 5)

How far do any of you have to go for the community and boxes? Do you walk or drive? How do you know what time the mail is in the box?

A lot houses do not have door slots anymore. I have only seen one house that been made in a condo with a mail slot in the door. I was keeping an eye on the house but the front steps has no railing so that house is out. It is right next the park I go to . I heard people are moving out of my city b/c the mayor keep increasing the taxes and she is trying to do it again when they just went up pay to build a new school. Some mail carriers will not bring the mail to the house if there a mail box .

Do you understand about what I said? Disabled home owners or renters can use door slot mail with approval from USPS.

And Foxrac is right, USPS is required by ADA law to comply accommodation if homeowner or tenant request, refusal can lead to discrimination lawsuit without doubt.

Do you understand what I am saying ? I will be looking at condos and you can't put a mail slot in your door if you have your own private door. And there are some mail carriers that could care less if you're disable or old. I have a neighbor that 90 yo and when our regular mail carrier is off for a day or vacation the person covering for her will not bring my neighbor mail upstairs for her. Some people do not give a shit , I saw one mail carrier drive the truck right into a trash can instead of going around it. He did not care if he broke it.

Sounds like a disgruntled postal delivery driver. They should file a complaint to the postal inspector. They are to comply with ADA law to help the disabled residents. Garbage service has similar things that they can get the cans from the side of the house to dump to the truck and put it back. Some people can't walk far to do such task.

First - I DO NOT live in condo. I live in the house with individual curbside mailbox.

Second - 90 years old neighbor needs to file ADA complaint against USPS.

Third - door slot mail is allowed in newer houses if you have disabilities.
