No more car!

I am very happy today! This is my last day for driving my car. I finally stand up and told my parents I am not paying the insurance. I pay the insurance with my parents together that's why. What's other funny things is that at the same time, my work just got layoff. I am very happy! Now I save $250 a month, and I am very happy to stay home with SSI very peacefully.

Oh yeah and I am planning to sell my car for $$$$$$$$$$$ hehe!

Question.. How much $$ u made from job and how much $$ u take from SSI?

Cheap ?

Have you ever seen a motorcycle with a wooden frame? Well check out this picture and you will see one. I wonder how it rides? :giggle:

If its the best for you to rid of the car. Go for it..

I never OWN a car in my whole life. I always take a bus, train, cab and ride a bike to everywhere in my whole life. NOW when I get the money soon, I MUST buy a car bec I need to drive instead of depend on people. I am tired of it. I have enough with it. I know insurance, and gas expense but that's life.

Well, if you are over 25 years old then you would be lucky to get cheap insurance rate than people who is under 25 years old.

I can't wait til 25 years old to can make on my own but my aunt is already paid it.

Goodness I'm 25 now since after tax day... I've my license at age 16 for family reason but driving ever since... I got into 5 accident:
2 at fault: 1. Crashed into a parked vehicle in neighborhood area on a curve while working for Domino's Pizza, got into sudden snowstorm and was about to do a last run but oh well.
2. rear end a SUV with other 4 friends in my car (was trying to change music station and looked up and too late)

3 NOT at fault: 1. A moron man was speeding behind me and I stopped in front of red light just in time and the car rear-end my motorcycle and I walked away from the scene little injured (I refused to go hospital cuz the man's insurance expired 2 week before my accident so I end up sued his old insurance company and attend physical therapy for 5 months before I got better but will have problems when I become old fart.
2. A woman from NYC rented a SUV (whose on cell phone while driving) ran through a red light in a one way street in downtown and I was driving across the street (right of way on green light) and when I saw her about to crash me, I slammed my brake and turn right fast as I could but crashed front of my car (funny to watch my front bumper flying 1/2 block away lol) I drove home in my car but felt so UNSAFE cuz I could see my headlight, front grill etc then send it for repair while I had a rented car at the lady's insurance expense.
3. A lady on cell phone hit my rear bumper which cause a minor dent, she want to swap insurance with me but I refuse (cuz I know nowadays many people will exchange a fake insurance infos) so I use my sidekick IP-relay to call police, within 5 min 4 cops swarmed around me and other driver lol so I made sure I had correct insurance infos from other driver AND MADE sure she got ticketed before she can get away (bleep)

Also I had 3 speeding tickets: 1 on motorcycle going over 105 mph but cop clocked me at 93 mph before I could hurrily slow down but cop was pissed off trying to catch me, my good excuse I had to go bathroom but still got ticketed, fun memory lol... The other 2 tickets from my current car oh wella... But I noticed I got speeding ticket every 2 years in the month of October. Now I gotta prepare for october 2008 lol

Yes my insurance have went up and down a bit throughout the years and I have switch many insurance to find cheaper... Now I'm with encompass insurance who offer a 1 year rate instead of 6 months and is also cheaper for me, no compliants heh.

In additional, if I work nearby or by downtown I plan to use LightRail and use car less, that will make insurance go down if you inform ur ins company

I am waaaaay over.. ;) I know it will be less insurance.. smile!!

I like my car. It makes road kill. Road kill makes the grass grow green! <3

Do you ride bike when you need transportation? LOL. There's always a way around with or without bike.

I did live on SSI when I was in college. Was poor but kept the car cuz it's paid off. Gas was cheap back then (79 cents a gallon). I repaired car using my mechanical whiz creativity to get it running like starter went bad, I use 6 inches copper pipe, hammer, drill, hacksaw. I pounded the copper pipe to flattened it then made a copy of starter's worn copper contact. Then assembled it and put starter back on. IT works!. I can't live without cars cuz almost every places are pretty far off and City did not have Public Transportation back then..

Some deafie here in Kansas on SSI still owns car. They find their way around to get car fixed. Sometime they have extra car which is broken down and other exact same model work fine. They use it for parts to save money. They can afford Insurance. Some of their car have broken windows, bad shock, no muffler ect and still driveable. There is NO Motor Vehicle Inspection here in KS. Missouri requires MVI by law. They can't live w/o cars. They will not sacrifice their freedom tho.

A friend of mine still on SSI and owned 15 cars and trucks scatter across City of Olathe (80% of vehicles are inoperatable and got it through city auction LOL). He managed to buy cars and trucks by trading or selling. Right now he is down to 3 vehicles cuz many of his friends who let him park cars at their apt parking lot or home complained that it's becoming eyesore. New Apartment manager finally decided to clean up APT parkinglot. They had police slapped warning sticker that car will be towed if not operateable. My friend had to move inoperatable car around in order to fool the officer. It's a tiring task for him then finally sold the car LOL. I gave message to him "Get a Job and throw out ur crap heap and get new one!!!"

Some Deafie can't drive and rely on Bus or friends who are available. Sad is that there are FEW deafie ride bike.

Catty

I would love to have a bike, ride for half mile to the mall, around the Fourth Plain Blvd (one of big shopping road in Vancouver), and stuff. Lucky the bus stop is just next street from my home, and many stores are near me hehe! :D

Yeah I understand about people who live in rural, they required car, period, they have no choice..

Lol, I hope that you would enjoy to wear sexy vest.

Haha! ;)

Question.. How much $$ u made from job and how much $$ u take from SSI?

I was used to earn about $800 to $1,000 from job with SSI about $150, but recently lay off, so without the job, I earn $623 from SSI plus food stamps $100, then I earn from one of my roommate $200 total about $800 so not really different..

Have you ever seen a motorcycle with a wooden frame? Well check out this picture and you will see one. I wonder how it rides? :giggle:

*Drunk woman's fault, I was stop at the red light, then one drunk woman drove so fast and crashed on my rear car.

Police let me go and told me if the court need me, then I'll go but was never called so I assume the 2 men were arrested after checking out of hospital.

Sheesh! You remind me very much like one of my friend. He wrecked my former 89' Mazda 232 that I sold him for $100. Not my plm! (chip on my shoulder). He wrecked other cars of his own too. Several times his car was rearended by Hispanic driver who do not have Insurance. Different time different guys LOL.

I had wreck twice last year and 4 years ago. Both are not my fault. Stupid kids in 20's made bad judgement and ran into my van side. He didnt have insurance and Driver's License. He drove off leaving two passengers stranded. Both passengers became my witness LOL (driver was scared and shak'n cuz I'm big and strong and have army headband on my head and had a mean look at him. (look like Rambo). He thought I'm going to beat him up to pulp). And last year the 21 year old guy in Chevrolet Avlanche truck tried to cut in front of me while I had green light. He totalled my van and his insurance paid me check. Thanks alot to that guy for having 2nd truck payment (to replace my van!!)!! Grrrr. Oh well that's life.

I'm in my 40's and I drive carefully and keep distance. I really HATE driving in Missouri because too many crazy driver speeding out there in KC MO and road are narrow. In KS, Road are wider and driver are less crazy except for teenagers. But funny thing is I am seeing alot of slow drivers!! LOL. I don't bother radio. MY kids use radio often. LOL

Hey, don't knock it till you tried it! Just because you pancake a squirrel off I-95 on a road thats filthy doesn't mean it's not edible!

Ooccchhh I forget to mention winter time in my previous post. Thank you for remind me... :giggle:

I will use car only if there´re rainy, snow and ice.

yes, I will use car too, If it is bad Weather over here. that is fine!!!
you know that I am selling my car last 1 Month ago. I feel so different without my car. I used a train and busses and subway. that is okay!

Oh Gosh!!.. do mind my asking question .. what your 4 friends said after the crash :giggle:

Lol, it's been awhile, the passenger next to me had her breast hurted and the other one behind her hit her forehead. The middle one fell on the shift between me n the girl and other one that sat behind me spilled the pop. They were shooked as me too but cop knew some sign language and was nice enuff to give all of us a ride back home.
