deafskeptic, no I honestly don't live there.
I've visited and I've read narratives and histories of things that have happened.
My dad and his family lived in Texas for a year when he was a child. Their family doctor recommended that they move there at that time thinking that the warmer climate would be better for my aunt's <dad's younger sister, now dead> health. They moved from Chicago, from large extended family.
The family didn't really like the climate though and They ran into Klan there and had some stuff happen and left.
Also as a Jew, it is useful for me to know this history and know what I could be dealing with when traveling. In small towns or more isolated areas no matter where I am, I'm always conscious of this fact.
