My Great Aunt

Okay... Currently, my mom told me like ten minutes ago...

I have my great grandaunt, so she now has an alzhiemers (like you are an aged person but your brain is only eight years old) and her brain is more like an teenager's age... She is deaf since she was three years old from her personal disease...

It just hurt my feeling when my mom told me that my great aunt don't remember me at all. But I don't blame her for that... because it was my very last time to see her when I was around twelve years old. My grandfather was considered to take me to visit her but my great aunt's son told him that was not good idea. So I suggested we could bring some pictures of my family and her, that would not scare my great aunt or stare at us like if we are a stranger. Also, he told my grandpa that there is no place to stay... my grandpa already had a plan this month for visiting her, from Sept 27th to Oct 11th. So I have to figure it out to find a hotel on my own, then I could visit my great aunt this year or next year (2009). I'm thinking about December or January that would have a good time... my great aunt live in the eastern of USA over there.

I really want to see her for one last time before she die... I have only two deaf persons, inculding myself, in my family. It's just break my heart.

I'm now too numb to think of everything... Too much for me... :(:(

I am sorry about the news on your Great Aunt. My mother had Alzheimers Disease before she passed away a little over two years ago. I do hope you can find a way to visit your Great Aunt in the eastern coast. I will pray for you and your family. :hug:

I am sorry to hear that. My Mother has demencia almost as Alzheimer. You and your Aunt are in my prayers.

i have friend who had it but she died in 2005
so i know what is like to have someone we loves losing and etc.. i saw her right after she was diagnosed and she remember me a little but not lot

Iam sorry about your great aunt. Yes, go and grab the opportunity to see her so that way you can have some memories to cherish with her.
