it will be already washed and waxed :)

Doesn't matter, it's still a FORD, end of story!!!!!!

 I still agree...

1. I dislike small car
2. I dislike small tires
3. I dislike short car

in America... small car + small tires + short car =
yikes_smilie.gif

Same here.

Jake, the pic of the car you post looks so tiny!!! I wouldnt buy that in America!!! Not the way people drives nowadays. Since you don't have Chevy where you at, I just hope you did make a good choice buying that tiny Ford. I wish you luck and BE VERY CAREFUL!!! It is still so TINY!!!

I do love old Chevys BEST!!! It just never dies!!! Ford are so difficult to repair and cost too much money to repair!!! So that is America. I just hope your-kind-of-Ford will surive.

It is a good thing you bought a new car than to spend miles long repairs to a junk car...

Do you get lifetime warranty on ur new car. I do have lifetime warranty on certain things and other things for 7 years or 70,000 miles. And mine is Chevy :naughty:

Funny thing, sequoisa live in the city and purplecatty live in the county road.

Everyone know country road is better than city for vehicle's life.

Civic with 4 cly (city area) is almost 30,000 mile more than Durango V8 (county road).

Both have almost same problem. :giggle:

sequoias made good point. :aw:

I am sure your vehicle become short life IF you live in big city.

I agree with this. My geo is get tired but it have 99,000 miles but it grew up in city before I bought it. City is hard on brake, engine, transmission, and axle.

city driving requires more maintence, oil changes etc etc... it also depends on if the car gets a beating by the driver.
even if a motor gets blown, it is easy to replace, if the owner knows how to fix it. that is why I prefer older American cars. easy to fix, no computers and cheaper...

someone that can't fix their own ride shouldn't be knocking other brands when their ride is sucking donkey balls... :aw:

most American cars built before 1980 were tanks. I recently bought a 74 Ford Ranchero. Just before I made the purchase I took it out for a test drive, I'm filling up the gas tank parked at the pumps, a idiot backing out of his parking space plowed right into the Ranchero. the car that hit it was a VW Jetta. The driver, Amos and his 3 passengers were to terrified to get out of their car. A witness that knows me had to convince the people that I wasn't going to hurt them before they would get out of the car. We inspected the cars, my Ranchero has a clean spot on the bumper guard. The Jetta needed a new sub bumper, new plastic bumper covering, the hatch was dented in and the glass was broken.
moral of the story - the Ford was a tank, weeniemoble needed about $4000.00 in body work.

odd yet amusing part of the little tale: Right after I got Amos' drivers license number, insurance info, vin number and tag all that, he split before he got any of my info. poor kid was still scared stiff.

Feel free to complain about Ford, Like I don't care. You guys don't know about the australian ford history... no wonder why my parents still have the ford Falcon wagon for 16 years runnin' ;)

Nope, but he used to have a mazda as his race car back in the mid 90's -- it was a good car but poor thing that car had trouble and was sold, but heard it was destroyed in a racing accident

I am complaining as an American. But I would have to say you are lucky in your country. Early in my days I used to like Ford, then learned the hard ways and learned some lessons. Chevy are best here, we would give you options if you move to America :D

I was born and raise with friends and families who loves Chevy. I have been around Chevy freaks in my time and age :giggle:

16 years is a long long time Jake. Your parents must have took an excellent care of that car like oil change when it is due, etc...That would be a miracle for America, I would tell you that. It is just rare. I do know few people are like that with their cars, but even with Ford they still never get that far like your mom and dad did. Anyone can correct if I am wrong. Because I do not know anybodies ever have this long, only Chevys. I know many people do have Chevy as long as 25 years or so...They only do some engine works, this and that and still strong like steel. :D

Most America here Have no idea about maintenance.

I would say Chevy SUCK after broke frame on front axle when I am plow snow.

I stick Ford no matter what everybody tell it suck. I have beat F250 in wrong way and still running. Can you image plow snow is easy on truck. WRONG.

It have see 45-55 mph in reverse and not stop when shift in Forward. Or slam on gas pedal. It actual worst than city. Which last longer? I say Ford because I have been plow with it. For Chevy I broke frame on front axle then bent frame for plow mount.

Chevy for groccery carry or comfy ride.

Ford for WORK and rough ride.

That's your opinion. Chevy are good work trucks, too. There's a million mile Chevy truck and a million mile Ford Van....no difference...so your point is baised.

The Ford and Chevy comparsions are pointless, we are here to talk about JClarke's new car, not compare Fords and Chevys

Yeah, thanks WizardOfOz.... I am  with the comparisons here.

I got an email this morning, the car will be ready for collection tomorrow afternoon at 4:00pm. :D

I understand but not solve the problem for everyone who know how to fix thing like lawyer, doctor, IT, blah blah and they pick brand new car over used car due warranty. :dunno:

OFC, I don't mind to buy the broke old truck and replace the new engine in future when I have enough time and money in future since I learned a lot about vehicle. I am happy that I taked auto class. :D I admit that any vehicle with PCM is pretty easy to me for find troubleshooting thru OBD-II and rebuild but problem is costly.

Yeah, my brother had a Ford Ranger when he slammed into Ford F250 pick up with salt spreader in the back back in 1991. The salt spreader went thru the windsheild with hood coming thru along almost at same time, both right thru the windsheild. Ford Ranger was totalled and buried in a junk yard. I can tell you how much damage it was with that Ford Ranger than a Z250...So much difference between these two Ford pick up trucks...Z250 hadn't had much of a stratch, but either still doesn't matter because a salt spreader that came through a windshield, even a hood from a Ford Ranger--both had saved my brother's life. Without that hood or a spreader, he would have died...

That is one reason I refused to buy small cars to remind me anything like a Ford Ranger.

Good luck Jake and please take a very good care of that car, protect it like it is your girl!!!

I have just insured my new car, it is all taken care of :cool2:
