October 2nd!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :fruit:
Yahoo! Bet you're gonna be antsy during the wait! Sounds like you're healing well!
And oh, BTW tomorrow is the big day for Fragmenter's son! Cannot wait to see the video tape Fragmenter promised to shoot during the process -- we cannot leave until Friday and I just can't wait!
Congrats on your grandson for it! Are you deaf. I know that your son's deaf. What communication methods do you guys use if you dont mind?
Yeah, she's deaf. I have a deaf dad, too. I have three aunts who are deaf/HH and an uncle who is HH. I have a little sister who is deaf and is married to my childhood friend and they have a deaf daughter together. My wife is deaf and so are our kids (deaf and HH).
Everybody uses sign language as their primary language even though some of us can communicate through sounds.
I'm excited for you! Can you tell me what your background is, please (if you don't mind, too)? I'm curious because I don't really know of anybody with a similar background as mine (absolutely no speech & hearing skills) that has a cochlear implant.
why take it long wait?
Glad Frag explained for me (us) -- I'm first generation deaf and ya can see Frag then his son (plus more in our family!! LOL)
Our family is really a big mix of ASL, SEE, oral, etc etc
I really that is a blessing so as it made me more open minded and more accepting of Frag's decision to have his son (our grandson) implanted and if you're not aware, my ASL (state school) hubby made the move to support Fragmenter and his wife's decision to have their son implanted -- that really blew me away! ME = oral vs. my hubby = pure ASL BUT he is more open- minded than me -- really put me to shame (and I really do hope the very anti-CIs feel ashamed!)
Because in Indianapolis.. alot of people r getting implanted and turn on. It's at the hospital of Riley which it's the best one in Indiana.
ahhh that explain! i undy.. thanks
You are welcome.. come by in Indiana sometimes!
