{sorry if this is a repost}

I always wanted to go and see this, it looks really cool. I read the source on the internet that they took 14 years to build this (1927 - 1947). This must have relied on its history to everyone's education.

I'm always there; that's me, third from the left.

It's a little off the beaten path but overall--it's impressive.

If you are going to go through South Dakota, I would also check out Wall Drug, SD as well as nearby Sturgis for their annual Harley Davidson motorcycle ride-in.

Also, if you ever read Laura Ingalls Wilder books when growing up, you can also check out DeSmet, SD as well. But be aware that it is nothing like the television series.

South Dakota doesn't seem to offer much but there is plenty to do in that state.

It is interesting to see...I have never been there yet...we plan to drive across country but right now I don't think so because thanks to gas price. We'll see in near future. :) There are more another attractions nearby but I am not sure what....

No I never been there, but would like to see it someday.

No, I never went there, someday I will. Also did you know that there's two sides of Mt. Rushmore?

I've never been there, but I wouldn't mind going someday. :)

Yes, I've been there... in the summer of 2002 when I was on family road trip out west. We didn't really stop to go up very close and take pictures and such... we were at a stop light and took a picture from a far, but close enough... good enough for us, that way, we'd just keep on going :)

Yeah... I've had a couple opportunities like that when I was driving from Nevada to Texas.

We were on a schedule trying to get through a heavy blizzard and didn't have time for sightseeing. :(

I went as a kid and had nightmares for weeks. It scared the daylights out of me because I thought the mountain was coming alive with giants or something.

I haven't been to Mt. Rushmore as well but I wouldn't mind going there if an opportunity arises. I also would like to see the Devil's Tower as well. :)

:Ohno:

At least, it's not like my nightmare where I was being chased by a man with reversed feet. ;)

I never been there either. I would like to visit that place, though. :)

Hmmm...how can he chase you if he has reversed feet, which should mean he would be going...backwards...?
I'm not talking about reversed feet where forwards is backwards. I'm talking about where left is right and right is left. ;)

I'm surprised of you all, that you guys haven't seen Mt. Rushmore! :eek3:

Jake ... that's the same with us Aussies here. Some haven't even ventured out of their backyards yet.
