Mt Rushmore - you been there before?

I know :o

I'm surprised of you all, that you guys haven't seen Mt. Rushmore! :eek3:

Not many of us can travel and touch all 50 states of the US. It takes around 3,000 miles to drive from the west coast to the East Coast.

I never been on South Island in New Zealand. As I only been on most parts of North Island in New Zealand.

That's something I'll have to do one day is to visit South Island. :)

:jaw: So am I. The evening show is awesome as well and the public film is closed captioned. Mt Rushmore is very attuned to the needs of the Deaf community.

The show was a little...."propaganda-like" but worth it due to the history of our country.

:) Go by Greyhound. Leave the driving to someone else. :)

I did that one summer with a bunch of middle schoolers from Seattle to Chicago.

Never again!

I haven't been to Mt. Rushmore as well but I wouldn't mind going there if an opportunity arises. I also would like to see the Devil's Tower as well. :)

That is another awesome park. If one you is a rock climber, they allow it during a certain time of the year. The rest of the year, they don't.

Wyoming is another nice state to drive through but I wouldn't take the "Bearclaw Highway." Too long.

Yellowstone is worth it as well. BEAUTIFUL!

If I was a rock climber, I'd simply climb up and poke Abe Lincoln's nose.

That way, i can tell everyone that I "picked his nose". ;)

I wouldn't mind taking Amtrak to cross country and that leave the driving to the locomotive engineers :)

No way I'd go to Greyhound bus with small restroom in the back and inadequate walking around the bus :P

Someday I'll go by Mt. Rushmore and other scenery places ;)

I like to see there but it's too far from home in Ohio. 1,300 miles and 21 hours.

If you will visit any US national parks in any states, you can get free access pass if you are disabled. I had gotten new card when asking national park agent before entering Grand Canyon last two weeks. This park fee is $25. Next day, I entered Zion and Bryce Canyon and it s free to enter!!

You require to get new access card and get info on it.

You can also take a helicopter ride around these guys if you don't wanna climb.....

I've been there. I drove by when I was in S.D and decided to take long way home. If you go there, be sure to stop by Crazy Horse also. It is only 17 miles away from Mt. Rushmore. It is not done yet and wont be for 30 plus more years but still neat to see!
