Gosh, that was scary to wake up in ICU and wonder 'wtf am I doing here?!'.

Glad to have you back here and improving daily. Are you going to get vaccination for the swine flu next time?

I have a card that says I am allergic to penicillin and sulfa, but I did not know that I was allergic to the antibiotic they gave me. But it has already been added to my list!

You betcha! I'm going to get vaccinated for anything that comes along! I had planned to get vaccinated this year, but actually came down with the flu before it was available in my area.

sulfa... i'm having this image that sulfa is a powdery form to control the nasty bleeding

Sulfa drugs are antibiotics. Mostly they are used for fungal type baterial infections. Bactrim is the brand name of a sulfa drug that is commonly used to treat penicillin resistant ear infections.

Thanks! My nephew's wife is a good cook. I'm looking forward to her dinner.

Actually, some coagulants do have sulfa powder in them to prevent infection in an open wound.

gosh, glad you are reallly okay this time. I didn't realize that actually happened you were not feeling so good back in time. That was so scary. glad you came back right before thanksgiving. Have a good plenty of rest and enjoy your meal. hope you are still in mood for ben & jerry Ice cream. hehe I am in the moment with Edy's mint cookie crunch ice cream now. ;)

:wave::D JILLIO!!! WELCOME back, so glad u feel better enough to come home! What surprise, wow, so scary! Now you gotta rest up, grab some books and some hot cocoa and big blankie and snuggle all warm!

I know that allergy to things like drugs can be so sudden - I ended up being allergic to Vicodin most recently after broken arm and had to go back to E.R. at 2 in morning. I have allergies to many things, including another drug that I was given when I was previously in hospital back in college after getting severe respiratory infection and having dehydration - think it was called Ancef. Carry Benedry with me everywhere, been thinking about getting one of those medic bracelets.

So glad to hear from you!:hug: now rest up so that you can re-enter AD fray at full strength!
 
Jillio, I am glad you are back. I was really missing you and am happy to hear that you are on the mend. Please take it easy and get all the rest you can. We need our resident "psych" to help us out. Things have been going amuck.
