Here's Rocky... He's 6 months old, Cattledog mix.. (mix with either rottiweller or doberman).. he was neglect by previous owner.. he changed after few days with us.. he realized that hes still puppy that we encouraged him to be puppy again and playful.. hes very smart.. just work on his barks..

Rocky always followed me every where and except rode with me in van. When i was slept, i can t hear the alarm ring, Rocky already knew that i can t hear t at, he jump a small end of table then jump bigger dresser , when he hear the alarm start ring, he jump on me and wake me up .... lick my face, i said "good boy Rocky" then gave him a treat bone! he loves big bone but not small bone.
last two weeks ago, i asked my sister for babysit my dog rocky for one weeks
she said "sure sure " .... i was on vacation for myself ... Rocky sit and watch the window and wont move at all and won t eat the dog foods. my sister opend front of the window that where she washed the dishes ... Rocky jump chair and jump counter, Rocky went thru the screen window and my sister tried to catch him but it is fail and big hole on screen window and rock didnt get hurt because it is too high but my sister was puzzled and he sopposed to get broke leg or hurt because his leg is so thiny and so small ... she said " Rocky is very strong and Rocky sat on the pouch and won t come inside the house and my sister tried to pick Rocky up and Rocky bites her. so she decided putted collar with chains and leave him outside with dog foods. " guess what ?? Rocky pulled his collars off then he sat on driveway and waited for me arrived home and she puzzled that rocky didnt ran away at all or not bark at all... I arrived home from vacation, Rocky barked at me and ran and jump on me and lick all over my face, i saw what happened about the screen window was ripped and big holes... i said "oh shit and i have to pay for new screen" but my sister said "no , she warned me that she never babysitting my dog rocky and Rocky is very very protective over me ! ." My parents and I were laughed at my sister !!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats meaning I am spoiled on Rocky s life ! lol I never forget what my sister told me everything abou Rocky and i wish i put a picture of him on computer but i dont have any scanner or camera . so well.

its almost a year now.. since we have him..

its been alot of up and downs.. got few warnings from animal controls because of his barkings..
I tried.. spray collar.. didnt work.
I tried.. remote control that used by K-9 police training.. (high pitch).. didnt work.

water spray.. didnt work.

so i decided took him to training classes that i talked to his vet.. his vet is very nice and knows signs.. wanted to help and work with me..

since its been almost more than 2 weeks now, i have been training him by clicker.. make him look at me.. so he need the "focus" to me or other in family. till he get use to it then whatever he focus on something, i call him he looked at me.. but still working on barkings.. but.. took him to dog park to overcome his fears.. and less barkings at them.. now hes doing great.. wow..

I dropped him off last thursday at friend's place that we were planning to go Maryland for one week.. but something came up conflicts.. so I went to get him, today.. he was SO happy .. sitting in the car.. looking forward like human.. but i took pic and love it because of reflect of the sun and background plus him.

there s are few different anti-bark collar.

spray collar..
shock collar
spikes collar..
choker..

i dont want spikes, choker.. but shock.. probably will be last thing in my mind..

Oh by the way I forgot add to my previous post.. vet found out that Rocky is part of Husky.. that barks/voice from husky.. no wonder.. that typical of barker.. is non stop.. its their charcters.. :/

shock collar works for my dog but i dont leave it on my dog at all times only when she barks like crazy.

yea huskies are a bit heavy barkers
 
DoofusMama -- Froggie and i really enjoyed having Rocky here for a couple days despite the fact our furbabies were NOT too happy abt it -- Rocky IS a good dog! i applaud ur efforts on training him and how much its really paid off! we were so impressed on Rocky's behavior while here with us -- :applause: WTG!

Yay!.. I was nt sure if I should name my friends who took care of Rocky.. :)

Yes, i was surprised that he was doing so well at your place espically with your cats.. and going through parade and all that rackets noise..

they cost around 150-200 dollars for that.. what if its not work for him.. wasted.. :/

but still keep it in my mind..

because.. I dont want have his vocal surgery.. thats most common in husky..
after the vocal surgery.. will more biter or aggresative...

too much going on to think about.. but as long hes doing better and the neighbors are gone for vacation, have not see their dogs around lately.. I will wait 3-6 more months before final decisions if he hasnt changed.. OR getting other barking ticket from animal control..

Husky is very strong common and use to heavy barking.. Works for you helps your dog reduce barking as well?

What make you determinded your dog reducation barking ? Reason Neighbours complaint or what? I'm very curiouis.

I am been trying to work with him, still training him.. vet/trainer said it takes WHILE because he WAS
-"roamer" (still do if the gate is open, he runs like there is no tomorrow)...,
-experienced being attacked by pitbull, have fears around the dogs (he
overcome that last week.. I took him to dog park twice, it worked, try
to make that habit twice or three time a week)...
-needs to work on command, when he went off to focus on something like
other dogs on other side of fences, he go bark like crazy....I call him to
come, or tell him stop... he needs to work on that,
-need to learn to STAY.. not restless around after I command him stay, few sec.. he moved around..

I know its frustrated but i have to stick with route.. over and over then finally he get that habit..

Umm, i am trying to explain.. its not the neighbors' complaints... but they did report and complaint about Rocky's barking.. because his barkings are like aggersative.. (looks like police dog barking mean at bad person).. "red zone" thats scary part for people to see dogs are like that.. and very heavy loud barkings that hurt hearing people's ears.. but still Rocky needs to stop barkings... he has no reason for that...

Also, Minnesota law for barkings, if more than 8-14 minutes nonstop barkings-- or on and off for 1 hour.. like 3 min apart of barkings..
he could for nonstop barking for full 11 mintues then maybe 2 minutes then again barkings..
