Oh I see, I don't know if he is in solitary confinement or regular confinement since news didn't say, but high attention to public like media will probably put him in solitary confinement.

you misunderstood. AR15 can be modified for a specific thing - hunting, shooting competition, home self-defense, military, law enforcement, ...... and massacre.

This guy modified his gun to be a disgusting killing machine with one single goal in mind - to kill as many innocents as he can in a short amount of time.

It been reported a numbers of times that the shooter is in solitary confinement.
A priest was in jail for raping young boys and another inmate killed the priest.
This happen in Boston Ma., I was surprised the priest was not in solitary confinement.

I don't think so! The only thing that made it any different from any other AR15 is the drum magazine and lots of people have them too! If it's modified for massacre then it would have to be fully automatic!

I found out that James Holmes is same age as mine and born in 1987, also he completed bachelor of science degree.

Wow, what's waste of life and money for college, and his life will be permanently ruined because he will probably sentence to death penalty or life in prison. If he used Pell Grant or federal loans so what's big waste of taxpayer's money.

I am thinking that he may have snapped due to all the pressure from med school. I was reading an article today that he is displaying symptoms of someone who had a psychotic breakdown. He is constantly spitting at the guards and has to wear a mask.

It could all just be part of a ruse to get an insanity plea in.

Do me a favor and don't use the guy's name in your post. He does not deserve his name to ever be mention again. Just refer to him as "the killer".

not quite necessarily. I don't think I've ever heard of any massacres caused by lunatics' automatic weapons.... only ATF agents.

I know no shit about guns. Can you explain the difference between semi-automatic and full automatic? Thanks in advance, Jiro.
 
My opinion:
I don't feel Holmes was psychotic person, a lunatic (for what he did recently, yes he became a lunatic, but not before this) or some kind of mental disorder, this is just my opinion.

Some things that tell me about why:
He graduated with a Neuroscience degree BS from a recognized university. That program track isn't very easy to get on the honor roll on.
He was funded a MS-PhD scholarship for his program at University of Colorado. (This is probably where he got some of his money to purchase gun stuff if he wasn't working.)

I think that something just snapped in his life to act like that all of the sudden.

Yeah, he's too smart. I guess he was pissed off by something like a break-up with a girlfriend. Love is usually one of the motives.
 
I saw an FBI profiler on the news saying that a jury may determine from his courtroom behavior, that he was faking being crazy.
 
Sorry if this has been asked but since this "killer" had no problem killing and wounding innocent people, WHY did he tell the police his apartment was booby trapped? Did he all of a sudden feel "guilty"? If the police didn't know, from what I have read, they would have entered thru the front door, then all hell would have broke loose. Correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah, me, too. I wonder why he warned the police. Maybe he realized that things got bad so he didn't want it getting worse. Who knows?

May I interject? Very simple:

Pull trigger once and hold it - gun will rapid fire until magazine is empty or release when you want (full auto).

Pull trigger each time for one cartridge to fire until magazine is empty. Holding trigger will not make it work (semi auto). :rifle:

This applies to assault style rifles like M-16, AR-15, AK-47, etc. It also applies to machine pistols such as a MAC-10 or Uzi.

Full auto guns are illegal in the U.S. unless you have a hard to obtain Class-III license. Usually that is given to gun shop owners. Military personnel are exempt, but they can only use them at a base range or in armed conflict.

If you are caught modifying a semi to full auto weapon - quickly say goodbye to those around you. Prison time is guaranteed. :eek3:

Some assault rifles have a grenade launcher under the barrel. Civilians can only use them for shooting flares. Military can use them to made a BIG BANG!
