not sure how to ask this question in a respectful way - but it is something I have often wondered about regarding all of the political social movements advocating for different groups of so called "oppressed minorities". One "group" (I hate using that word as we are all unique individuals) of what could be considered an oppressed minority would be cojoined twins.

What would be the marital rights of pair of cojoined twins. Suppose the cojoined twins have two heads but share the same body. Suppose one twin wants to get married and have children (for illustrative purposes they are a cojoined pair of female twins) but the other does not. They share a single womb. Suppose the one who wants to marry and have children somehow conceives a child, but the other twin wants an abortion. Suppose one twin immediately files for a divorce after the other marries.

who wins their rights in a situation such as this?

what if one twin feels she was actually born a male and wants to undergo gender reassignment surgery and the other claims the her twin is lying and does not want to go through gender reassignment?

Seems like things like that would end up in a civil case...

yes, it does seem it would end up in court. I cannot find anything pertaining to marital rights of cojoined twins - the only thing I could find were the two male cojoined twins from Siam - but they did not share the same body.

I take it they were successfully separated?

As for marriage each are their own person so it makes sence that to get married then they would win the case but martial relations would be a nono.... but then again with having to live their lives so closely I would think they would have an understanding before this... also how would a relationship get to thst point without the other twin's approval?

The gender reassignment and abortion stumps me though... both cover the rights of your body... so then one asks who has the right?

The twins i referenced to did not share the same body, they were joined at the hip:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chang_and_Eng_Bunker

The example I am using of a pair of cojoined twins that share one body would fit the description of Abby and Brittany Hensel:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abby_and_Brittany_Hensel

to clarify, I am not asking any questions about Abby and Brittany, I am just using the condition in which they were each born to inquire about individual marital rights of cojoined twins in such an example.

If I recall the girls had a show or documentary and mentioned that they had sensation and control of different parts of their body... I wonder if the hypothetical set of twins had similar experience if it would play part of it...

However, when they went to get drivers license they had to fight to get two drivers license... while they won the case, it does seem like without legal intervention, a conjoining of that magnatude is treated as one person...

I understand that you are not speaking of any specific set of twin, but a hypothetical set with similar condition...

Yes, the reason why I am asking the hypothetical is because Abby and Brittany are two separate individuals and I do not want to demean them in any way shape or form - just using their condition to ask sensitive questions about a hypothetical situation.

Two separate individuals is key to understanding this, I think. However, since they share the same body, how do you separate their rights? Where does one twin's rights begin and the other's end? What defining boundary could be established?

because conjoined twins is a very rare medical case.....

The rights of the individualand of the body... one would have to ask why they want something done to their body... say the abortion ... why would one want the abortion... the gender reassignment... hmm how would that change their identity issue or their sexuality? For if they are one sex while their body is another than how can they argue that the sexual organs are not the "property" of the other?

Thanks for doing some digging - I just think it is interesting. It seems one would have to sacrifice their personal liberty for the other.

It would be unlikely a conjoined twins could conceive and dangerous what I like to know if one dies I know the other be moments behind.but what if the other could live they got be right place right time and odds not good.
The more personal stuff they switch off

so what are you angling for? we all know you have something hidden in your sleeve. an agenda.

The original Siamese twins sex life was good they were able to blank each other turn off completely if that is what angling for

Its really bad when the guy tells one that their sister was better..

Could one called rape if she didn't want her sister and sister's bf to have sex, is she forced into it? They touch on this is America horror story, the circus one. One twin checks out and doesn't feel it. Idk how that works in the real world
