Krispy Kreme has a bacon hot dog donut. Yum or yuck?

Her longevity wasn't due to bacon, it was due to a very active life where among other things used bacon as a source of energy. Great for her, but if she was sedentary, she'd be in trouble.

Government guidelines now say, eat as many eggs as you want.

You can't eat enough cholesterol to actually effect the problem with blood cholesterol.

That is genetic, and your body itself makes it.

Right, as long as they're utilized.

That wouldn't be the same government whose guidelines blamed eggs for cholesterol in the first place? :hmm:

Bacon hot dog - ewww...not for me.
I haven't had traditional meat-based hot dogs or traditional bacon since I was a kid.

So far as eggs, yeah, it keep changing but I've heard same as Botti.

Cholesterol problems have can have a big genetic component.
Hub's is very high- enough that it looks like all he eats is fast food and meats/greasy stuff but he doesn't.

Actual, if the bread is whole wheat than rather cheap white flour. Then it help balance your weight. It had do nothing with sugar period.

I'm consuming whole wheat food only so sugars do indeed contribute to obesity (belly fats) because of high carb.

The donuts have high saturated fat (much as 70%), along a lot of sugars so it make easily to be obese.

It is not bad to eat diet with high cholesterol in moderation, especially eggs have a lot of protein.

White eggs are safe play to not have cholesterol and fats.

Exactly the same. I remember my father telling me when he was a child, doctors recommended eating lots of eggs as you needed that cholesterol.

I don't have a problem about the eggs--I just don't put much faith in anything the government says about nutrition. :giggle:

If people see what go into hotdog they never eat it yuk yuk

I only eat Hebrew National.

Kosher hotdogs don't have anything bad in them. Only select parts of the cow are allowed to be used in anything kosher.

Before the cholesterol scare, eggs were the poor-man's protein source, and were considered an important affordable food.

Bodybuilders prefer white eggs because of no fats.

these white omletts white scrambled eggs I saw in States, I expect they do them here but never seen them do taste like unsweeten meringue

I put that badly...I mean what do white scramble eggs taste like ?I don't find it appealing but would try them if others thought taste nice

"Cholesterol has been a fixture in dietary warnings in the United States at least since 1961, when it appeared in guidelines developed by the American Heart Association. Later adopted by the federal government, such warnings helped shift eating habits -- per capita egg consumption dropped about 30 percent -- and harmed egg farmers."

Blame on AHA because government warning is all influenced by AHA study.

do Americans take or eat statins,I take one a day plus things like pro flora bread spread but doctors now think full butter is less harmful can't win

Americans do take statins. But studies seem to show that they don't really reduce heart attack and stroke.

I think statins are only for people with high cholesterol problem.

Consume of high fiber diet may help to reduce the cholesterol level like Metamucil, oats and whole wheat.

Hub's doctor has suggested statins. He was reluctant to try but did briefly and had some side effects so stopped.

Growing up we had kosher hot dogs; my dad loves Chicago-style hot dogs.
We had Hebrew National often too. <I just happened to see an article about the "kosher-ness" or debated lack thereof, on Hebrew Nat...:hmm:>

I love egg white omelettes. I put lots of veggies in.

Wild West cowboy breakfast.Yummy!
