Josh Duggar resigns from Family Research Council after sexual abuse allegations

He was 14 years old and his dad turned him in. It also appears he underwent counseling, admitted he was wrong, and corrected his behaviour.

In other words, it appears he is light years ahead of those who do not admit that what they are doing is wrong.

Anyways ... he was a kid. Kids sometimes do very foolish and stupid things. Especially teenage boys.

I wonder if you'd extend this similar "forgiveness" for heathens doing this same thing.

other articles have him at 15 at the time.. and 4 of the 5 victims his sisters between the ages of 5 and 12 (yes the police report is accessible online). So..."molesting their own sister(s)" is a foolish and stupid thing? I'm fairly sure he knew what he was doing.

It has been reported that he admitted it when he was caught. Big difference. This guy, Jim Bob has different ideas of raising his kids, but to me, some of his ideas are too extreme. I think I mentioned once I didn't watch the show. I only read the articles. Jim Bob doesn't permit his children to hang out with their friends alone as long as one of the children has to be a chaperon. It is possible Josh must be bored and spent all his life as a teen babysitting constantly with his siblings instead of hanging out with his friends. At least, he's got help.

He knew what he was doing....molestation/rape within the family is hideous....For sure, the sisters have never forgotton it....and if it happened to me, don't think I could forgive it either.
A friend was molested and almost raped by her own brother...she kept it a secret for over 30 years. She also struggled with her own personal relationships with men...when she finally broke down and told her Parents what had happened...they told her she was lieing....covered it all up and told her not to tell anyone else....she said she felt "so dirty".....And the brother had left town and never came around the family since it happened....he knew what he did to his own sister.....

I am not quite sure what you are trying to say.

Do you mean I should forgive an adult that unrepentantly molests children? because, hey, if that is your "thing" please don't try to make it my thing. I think children should be protected.

Should we have tied a noose and hung this 14 year old from the nearest tree?

His dad turned him in, he received counseling, he admitted to it - what he did was wrong - no one is disputing that.

Well ... it certainly was not very smart or wise .. unless you disagree.

Again, I am not sure what it is you are trying to imply. Instead of attempting to confuse me even further, could you please answer my initial question as to clear this matter up a little bit with additional clarity?

Thank you - we both know how very helpful you always try to be,.

To me, it seems the left side of the political spectrum is attempting to demonize the Family Research Council with this smidgeon of news, but are doing everything in their power to prevent this news from getting into the mainstream:

Detectives from the Portland police Sex Crimes Unit arrested Portland developer Terrence Patrick Bean on Wednesday on a Lane County indictment stemming from alleged sex abuse involving a teenage boy in 2013.

Bean, 66, a prominent gay rights activist and major Democratic Party fundraiser, was arrested at his home in Southwest Portland and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center at 10:12 a.m.

Terrence P. Bean, 66MCSO

The indictment charges Bean with two counts of third-degree sodomy, a felony, and one count of third-degree sex abuse, a misdemeanor, police said.

Bean wasn't a 14 year old boy, he was a 66 year old man forcing himself on underage boys. If you cannot differentiate between the two very different levels of evil between the story in the OP, and the above linked article - then I really cannot help you any further.

huh? you're asking me with my own question. how am I implying anything when I'm asking you a very simple question?

I asked you a very very simple question since you got all bubbly and warm over this guy all because he repented his crime... oh forgive me - sins.

and I asked if you'd extend this similar "forgiveness" for heathens/atheists/non-believers doing this same thing as this guy did. same scenario except this person is a non-believer or atheist.

Well, for one thing, I do not even know if the guy in the OP follows a religious faith or not. I do not watch the Duggar show. All I know is he was a 14 year old boy at the time of his crime, he fessed up to it, admitted it was wrong, and his father turned him in and he received counseling for his sexually deviant behaviour.

Are you asking me if I feel anyone who is struggling with a deviant behaviour should be turned in, fess up and receive counseling? because I don't recall addressing an issue of "forgiveness".

His dad turned him in,
.... at much later date..... over a year... and this guy wasn't even criminally charged.

he received counseling,
"counseling"? questionable. a "Christian" program.

His mother admitted that he never got a counseling.... just that he got sent away to stay with family friend for time being. and then he had a "talk" with a pervert police officer - a family friend.

he admitted to it - what he did was wrong - no one is disputing that.
...... only after his heinous crime was on front page...

I don't recall ever seeing it on a front page anywhere. The same is true of the Bean.

now you know. perhaps you should look more into his story before you go on defending him.

As I previously stated .. I can not help you any further. I guess you will just have to figure it out on your own.
