I have a question. How much cost for grooming?

Parlor Pooch- $24 and senior citizen owner of dog for $21 then increased to $28

Petco-$28

Happy Tail Grooming-$30 to $35. I have to deal with expensive grooming professional.

Mine was $36.00 at PetSmart, prices are varies by the size and age of the pet, that's included nail trimming with the full service grooming.

That what groomer ignored my dog's ear with matted inside. My dog was act like strange with her behave. Her head was shake and couldn't stop. I took her to VET. Her vet found it out she had an ear infection with fur. He showed me a swab with brown. Ekkk! He used a special clipper for ear inside to remove the hair and matted.

I always brush and comb my dog's fur all the times. I don't like the matted fur. It's pain in the ass! I know matted is not good for health.

You're right. That's why I don't trust this company anymore. My dog is happy at her rich groomer so far. I am not good at nail clip for my dog. I am afraid do trim my dog's nails. It happened to me once time. I'll never do it again. I prefer she go to grooming
professional.

Pinky, you are getting a good deal. I pay Petsmart $43 per dog each time. I save money each payday for two months, and then we go get the dogs groomed. They do a really good job though and the dogs are happy to go there.

im sorry about your dogs got cuts and also include your mother's

but you can get face off at groomers but you can chose whatsoevers going for groomers than petco.

im suggestion you can chose what you wanted chose favorite groomers they dont get jerkers and insults as recalls.

i think vet's office have groomers also include! than groomers

you can talk with groomers boss or you can sued at court if you can going for justice that your choice.

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about your mom's dog... but why your mom continue to go to the same shop when she was not happy with it?).

I am worked groomer for over 15 years!


You may not be aware of it, but mats are a serious problem..Pets left in a matted condition are usually ignored or neglected by their owners, Mats can become so tight it can tear the skin and cut blood circulation off to areas Often Matting will also hide other problems, Sores, infections, cuts!!

But Pinky brought a good point up why the groomer ignored it. I would inform the pet owner about infection, etc like what you said here straight way when I were groomer. If he/she ignored it then is their responsiblity.

I find interesting to read your comments here about the groomer... Most pet salon is in Vet.

I was at waiting room in the Vet because of my cats... Some owners go in pet salon or vet... I find interesting how and what the dogs came out from pet salon with exciting impression...

I can't say anything because I don't experience like that before...

Yes, Oh I see.. I thought that matted in the ear’s skin but matted inside the tunnel of ear and it has been there long time so obviously that your groomer is lazy or too rush!! Anyway First thing Groomer could put medicated ear powder and plunk it ( Not all breeds! )! Then Bath! I have about 25 people reserve me worked for their dogs so mean they don’t allow their dogs to any groomer! Last time I am earn Commission is about 60-70% in California :P... I can do 10-13 dogs a day with Bath's helper I have a Award that Won champion groomer's sytle with my client's dog>Soft Wheat Terrier> At Groomer shows

shave down with 25 to 30 dollar

With Puppy clip,Contineteal clip, or English saddle clip etc.. I will charge 40 to 100 dollar depend on size of poodle.. My favorite Standard Poodle too

My Advice .. Go find another groomer!

Yep.. First I thought matted on In the ear's skin... I never forget that One of cat with fully matted whole her body! so I have to careful shave it down.. I have actually seen raw,open with maggot infested wounds so I took picture of it.. My Bossy told him that must send it to our local Vet and She will called vet to see if owner show up with his cat but he did showed up at Vet

Hey Phillips - yeah I've seen a lot of matted cats. Some of them are just FULLY matted that you can shave it down and come off in one piece. It's just really disgusted on why people buy long haired cats and don't do anything! Even SHORT haired cats still get matted. People are idiots.

maybe you can find a Mobile groomer in the area that your mom lives. They go to people's houses and do the grooming in the van. Many of them are quite good. That way your mom won't complain about her dog getting infections.

No. My mom's area don't have mobile close. She already found a Poodle Grooming Professional in rich area close to my home. Her dog is still don't feel good because of spayed and ear. My mom got cone collar off from dog's neck. She will able to eat with bowl.

That's okay. The reason why my mom want to near to place instead of far away. Now, she realized with groomer. She said groomer's responsible to pay vet bills. She won't admit to vet about my mom's dog's ear. The dog's vet told my mom that he took a picture of ear with long cut look like a scissor or razor. He will talk with groomer. If she won't pay the bills. My mom will sue her. She will get other new groomer for Poodle's professional in other area.

It's same with my mom's sister in the law's own toy poodle boy's sister of my mom's dog. The boy poodle had an ear infection. His owner took him to vet. The vet found it out the water fluid in his ear by bath with shampoo inside from groomer.

My dog never have problem with PETCO. I am talking about Parlor Pooch grooming is bad for every dogs. But I like my dog's grooming at "Happy Tail Grooming" It's very professional.

I love to have a standard poodle. I saw the Blind's dog guide of Standard Poodle. I want to get one after my dog's die.

If this happened to your dog and your mom's dog, then this needs to be brought up to the owners attention and maybe reported for violation.

It's not right to be cutting dog's while grooming.

Don't go back, but I would still try to write them a letter out of concern for other dogs.

I am sorry to hear this and yea I agree lot of them not to go back to the same place.

As it happpened to my deceased dog. I took him to the groomer near my mom's house and I told her to shave off the whole fur down to 1 inches of fur on his body but when I returned to pick him up. To my surprised and shocked, she completely shaved all the fur off and left burn mark all over him. I was so pissed and she told me what happened. She said that she did that to other dog and the other owner reported on her for what she did to other dog. So I told her I wont came back again cuz this is not what I want to my dog. My do was so thrilled to see me and also it was at her house. she have no crate to keep the dog seperated. I was surprised nothing happened to my dog since my dog was afraid of a big dog which I saw there are few big dog.

I told my mom I wont go back there again. I dont trust her.

At that time I have no computer and no way to contact BBB. So now I do and do reported to BBB and it help me alot.

First you take the dog/cat to the vet and then go to the groomer to request the fund for the vet bill. If they refused to pay for it then reported to BBB. This will help to deal between the owner and the groomer to resolved the situation.


I just wish you do go ahead and report it to BBB.

yes, of course dog owners are bound to do something about this repetitive mistake but suing is LAST step if nothing else works. for example, if the groomer refused to pay. or if BBB doesn't respond at quite some time and your mother need her vet bills back then you can sue. there are few ways to fight smart before you decide to sue. I hope the groomer is following up with this ..

also, have you made a complaint to her/his (groomer's) boss? maybe the nice boss will help you through this and groomer may get fired.

for now, good, just don't go back and spread the words around about that grooming place as much as you can so more less dogs will torture stitches. hope your mother's dog (did I missed the name?) is feeling better today.

Simply cry with tears and all the works. It worked for me. I brawled so hard that they couldn't leave me like that and I did it in front of the customers.

Thank you for suggest me. The problem is groomer's own to Parlor Pooch. What should I do? My mom's dog name is Lucy. She is getting better now. She will have remove the stitches next week.

Vet sent a mail to my mom to show groomer of pictures and note about small claim court.

I'm sorry. I erased my mom's last name, vet's name and address. It's private.

Yes, I agree with DVM Vet either. I know it's bad! "Shake my head" Lucy is getting better. She will go back to vet next Thursday to remove the stitches from ear and tummy spayed.
